Bernie Sanders reveals his new government programs to be funded by new taxes, massive lawsuits, military cuts Bernie Sanders unexpectedly released a fact-sheet Monday night explaining that he'd pay for his sweeping new government programs through new taxes and massive lawsuits against the fossil fuel industry, as well as by slashing spending on the military, among other methods.
The move sought to head off complaints from Republicans and some rival Democrats that his plans were economically unrealistic, especially after a head-turning CBS News interview in which the frustrated Vermont senator said he couldn't "rattle off to you every nickel and every dime" about his proposed expenditures.
He released his plan on his website just minutes after promising to do so during a CNN town hall. Sanders could be challenged on his plans and have to explain them before a live TV audience as he and six other Democratic presidential hopefuls square off Tuesday night in South Carolina for the 10th Democratic debate.
In the meantime, Trump says Sotomayor, Ginsburg should recuse themselves from cases dealing with his administration In a remarkable public rebuke, President Trump late Monday called on Supreme Court justices Sonia Sotomayor and Ruth Bader Ginsburg to recuse themselves from any cases involving his administration over their past comments.
The president has proven in the past that he is not bashful about criticizing justices, but he seemed to be particularly bothered by a recent dissent by Sotomayor hinting that conservative-leaning justices have a bias towards his administration.

He doesn’t have an honest bone in his body. It’s all about imposing this internalized vision of how the world should work on all around him.
But, you have to admit bogus lawsuits would strategically be a sneakier way to go about it than either through Congress or executive fiat.

You are exactly right.
Bernie Sanders said at the debate last night that he wants minimum wage to be $15 per hour.
15$ X 40 hr week = $600
600$ X 52 weeks per yr = $31,200
Bernie Sanders wants free health care for all and was asked how he would pay for it. His answer was raise taxes to 52% on anybody making over $29,000 per year.
52% of $31,200 = $16,224 in tax
$31,200 - $16,224 = $14,976 is your pay
$14,976 ÷ 52 weeks = $288 per week $288 ÷ 40 hr week = $7.20 per hour
Math. Its fascinating. Alsothats not including state tax, sales tax and property tax.
Social security...Want to know why San Francisco, which implemented the $15 minimum wage is now full of homeless people.
Here ya go...Forcing minimum wage up to put people into a bracket for more taxes...Author Unknown

How to spot an anti-Communist? They understand Marx and Lenin...Ronald Reagan
Yup. This is why preppers prep.
Well the good news is that Pennsylvania has not enacted into law the National Popular Vote legislation designed to circumvent the Electoral College.
So yeah maybe Pennsylvania will be a lock for Trump if Bernie gets the demonrat nomination. However, he is identified as an Independent and the demonrats could say that as an Independent candidate he is not eligible for the demonrat nom.
Counting on the proceeds of lawsuits...hey, Bernie, that’s not really a reliable indicator of future revenue. You putz!
Bernie doesn’t understand how corporations work...those taxes and lawsuits will be paid by consumers in the form of higher prices and by workers losing jobs. How long would it take for those lawsuits to make their way through the courts before even a nickel was collected? Bernie better stick to unicorns farting gold coins to fund his utopia.
Yeah. Typical leftist dictator: talk innocent, play dirty.
I’m forecasting a rope shortage.
Never go full Venezuela.
Rats never recuse, never. Kagen actually helped author Obamacare and then ended up ruling on its constitutionality. You can’t get anymore conflicted.
Which one will go first?
Doesn't matter, HRC will eventually have no one to catch her, and if she does the bobble head on the Campaign trail a few times it will maybe shake her head off.
“That Sanders has so much support is frightening.”
The only thing that frightens me about Bernie’s supporters is that I may not personally have enough ammunition for all of them.
I am comforted by the fact that a good number of our fellow FReepers don’t have this concern.
(-:
A lot of young voters have massive college debt and see candidates like Sanders and Warren as their ticket to waive it.
I know a dude in his 40’s who wormed his way into city employment and and is salivating over some Fed program that’s supposed to waive his student loans.
Many years ago in a government course the professor asked why we had a progressive tax system.
My off the cuff response that it was to preserve the elites of the late 19th century and early 20th century to remain the elites into the 21st century caught him off guard.
He asked me to elaborate.
I pointed out that the net effect of confiscatory tax rates on those trying to build up wealth combined with inheritance laws that allow those already possessing huge piles of swag to shelter it while retaining control of it would be to help prevent new money supplanting the old. Or at a minimum insure new money played by old moneys rules. I pointed out that Kennedy upset that apple cart somewhat.
His well thats an interesting take was not critical and not approving.
So when we look at Sanders understand, even with progressive tax rates (which I will say are inherently in violation of our P&I per Corfield v Coryell) the real goal is to get the employers, to ruin them if they dont play ball, and to transfer those $15 to just being another government dependent.
Yes, it’s disgusting.
It’s too early to predict the coronavirus effect on the election. It may not do much in the US, or maybe it will cause a global market crash.
“President Pickles”
How close she came. How close she still is!
To paraphrase RR, Bernie doesn't have to join the RAT party...the RAT party has joined him.
