Contra Costa County - There is a loophole in the law that potentially allows California voters to cast two ballots and some local elections officials say that they are powerless to stop it.
Hundreds of voters have attempted to vote more than once because the states automated system sends a new vote-by-mail ballot if personal information or party preference changes.
The issue has gone largely unaddressed for nearly four years, opening the door to potential voter fraud. The California Secretary of State has ignored calls to fix the flaw, leaving the responsibility up to counties to police thousands of votes.

What do you mean they”attempted” to? Either they did or they didn’t. If they did, they should be arrested for vote fraud.

Well, dammit, I hope those pricks who vote twice think it’s worth it. “Under penalty of perjury and the full extent of the law”, voters swear they can only vote this ONE TIME. Who in his right mind would risk voting twice, given that strong proviso? Especially now that their chupacabra, PDJT, is in office — and has shown his willingness to go after such liars.

It’s a feature, not a bug.

It probably only sends out 2nd ballots to the people who voted Democrat the 1st time.

Ill bet that if those voters tended to vote Republican local officials would quickly find a way to stop it.

"... the states automated system sends a new vote-by-mail ballot if personal information or party preference changes."This happens a lot for Republican voters residing in cemeteries.

It’s not a loophole, it’s a ‘feature’ programmed by the socialis......er democratic party.

I wound up with 3 ballots - 2 mail in and the original. I changed my registration on line so I could vote for Andrew Yang in the primary. He dropped out so I changed back to R online. I got a Dem mail in and then a Rep. mail in ballot. I early voted with the R ballot. I bet I could also mail in the Dem ballot and vote in person with the original. Then there is same day registration with a provisional ballot . . .
I don't think California really cares about election security.

I don't think California really cares about election security. As long as the votes go D, definitely.
Across the country Ds are trying to eliminate the Electoral College while turning a blind eye to (or outright creating the opportunities for) voter fraud. How to fundamentally transform this country, indeed.
