Bring Out Your Dead

Post to me or FReep mail to be on/off the Bring Out Your Dead ping list.
The purpose of the Bring Out Your Dead ping list (formerly the Ebola ping list) is very early warning of emerging pandemics, as such it has a high false positive rate.
So far the false positive rate is 100%.
At some point we may well have a high mortality pandemic, and likely as not the Bring Out Your Dead threads will miss the beginning entirely.
*sigh* Such is life, and death...
If a quarantine saves just one child's life, it's worth it.
Can you say pandemic?
Sure, I knew you could...unless you’re boo WHO.
Sorry 33 were from North Gyeongsang province.
Not familiar with where that is.

Or Bu Hu
.
Doing China’s bidding.
I will be interested to see what North Korea does about this. Shoot people on sight?
NK has been pretty much prepared, that I understand. Some are saying it is because, their system is not advanced.
Not sure whether that is true, or whether just anti NK propoganda.
There was something I read about 2 or 3 weeks ago, but it did not seem to be verified.
I do know NK seems to have quarantined a bunch of westerners, not sure what that is about.
:)
For all we know they’re already all dead.
If it got/gets loose on N. Korea, the millions on the edge of starvation probably will not fare well. And as for the rest, I doubt they have the medical facilities to handle even the elites, never mind the masses.
Lower number then the last two days. South Korea must have it under control... Very good
Not so fast.
They ordinarily update several times, during a day
It is still morning there...
With the long incubation period and terrible health care facilities, North Korea is totally vulnerable.
Anyone who had the disease would try to hide it from the authorities as long as possible.

I guess our masters in DC had the weekend off. It’s not like South Korea has been trying to hide it from the world.
Hey, if this really is a killer virus (I have my doubts) and it is spreading, how about the South Koreans sending some infectees over to North Korea as defectors? It’s already taking hold in the Middle East. This could be a very helpful little virus. Sort of like AIDS in the 80s, thinning the herd.
Initiated at a religious service in Daegu about a week ago...hundreds together in one place. Likely to be several hundred more patients from the event.

S Korea is in a bad way with the virus spreading among church members.
Daegu, population 2.2 million, and its surrounding province of North Gyeongbuk, account for 681 of the 833 infections confirmed in the country as of Monday afternoon. More than 450 of those cases have already been identified as followers of the Shincheonji Church of Jesus, which mainstream churches see as a doomsday cult, and experts believe this number is likely to rise.
The lead infectious disease dr in that city is part of the cult/church.
