What about the people a few weeks ago who said the death rate was 50% because the recovery number matched the mortality number? Not far enough along? Why is it far enough along now?
We only have 53 cases not 40. The CDC has only tested 411 tests and REFUSES to test anyone who has not been to China in the last 14 days. This eliminates the possibility of catching community spreading which is what did Italy in. The Koreans have tested 35000 in three days. So the fact that the CDC is purposely not testing pneumonia patients who test negative for influenza should be troubling. Ask yourself who benefits by not confirming community spread locally in the USA? Wall street that’s who. If you are not testing for it you don’t have to report that it is spreading now do you. Over 10,000 Chinese have been admitted since January the statistics demand that at least some of them have the bug are mild or asymptomatic and are spreading it far and wide. There’s already people showing up dying of pneumonia around the country that test negative for flu their families wants tests the CDC jas flat out said no that tells me all I need to know about what our betters are doing. Preserve the market and economy at all costs.
Warm does not kill this bug...one word Singapore
Thanks for the info....
Thanks. So much information floating around and it’s hard to know what is true.
There ae two ways to look at some vitamins. One way is to take them as a supplement in order to make up for what a person does not get via their regular diet. And the other is to accomplish something, smaller amounts just are unable to do. This holds true for buffered ascorbic acid, such as calcium ascorbate in a range of 3K to 5K mg (5K=5000mg) the same holds true for NAC which has a host of benefits. It would take to much space here to list all the benefits, but if you happen to have a computer go to the Dr. Mercola website and type in “What are the benefits of NAC”
You may or may not be able to get NAC in the vitamin section of perhaps Walmart etc. and if they happen to have it in pill form these small amounts of 500 mg or less and even if you take several are nothing more than a waste of money. As by mouth only a small percentage will be absorbed and in order to overcome the loss you will have to increase the intake to at least several thousand mg’s (milligrams) In other words 3K to 4K would be just about the right amount to do any good. This is the reason I have been buying most vitamins in bulk or powder form or many years, and if bought this way they are quite reasonable and available from sources such as Amazon as well as Purebulk. I hope that this will answer your question.
I linked two sources - regarding the 40-70% number, this was from the professor of epidemiology at Harvard. I linked the article.
The other was the fatality rate, which I also linked.
The Chinese are shooting people at checkpoints. This is not good.
That means some of us will only suffer a mild death.
The fact that it might kill more Chinese might simply be because 74% of Chinese men smoke.
Healthy lungs can probably hold up better than smoke-damaged lungs. Smokers, the elderly and immune-compromised are usually hardest hit (not the case with Spanish flu, however)
pneumonia is the blessing of the aged....
Thanks for the information.
Per your scenario the 500mg C and 100mg C + rose hips is general support but not sufficient for a targeted result.
I ordered some of the time release NAC from vitacost.com a day or two ago.
Still in stock there.
You've nailed it, at least in the sense of sustained containment.
There is a crude analogy to alcohol. Most people can and do drink alcohol, usually self-limiting themselves to moderate amounts, usually not doing themselves undue harm, and not getting addicted to it or showing any sign of addiction. A much smaller % reacts completely differently, becomes addicted, and does great harm to themselves and others.
The difference is that non-alcoholics usually don't "infect" alcoholics in the usual sense of the word "infects". But, we "normals" do generally insist on some freedom of alcohol availability, so maybe we do cause "infections" after all. ??
The article makes a very good point about other coronaviruses (common cold viruses) and the human body also not developing immunity to them once one has fought off the original infection. I know I’ve had “double whammy” colds in the past.
That got me thinking about the 500 coronaviruses one research effort found in bats in some cave in China — and then they found antibodies to at least one of those virus strains in villagers nearby - but no active disease. The researchers also believed they’d only scratched the surface in the number of bat coronaviruses yet to be found.
So, I wonder. What if this is not really a “novel” coronavirus? What if it is instead a quite old coronavirus that made the jump to humans in the past, adapted so as to not trigger immunity, and then for whatever reason died out in humans (isolated area, something else took out the local humans...), and, now, it is back.
For an older person somewhat set in their ways, that is VERY hard to not do.
It's inhuman!

Note what the article points out about the 4 coronaviruses that cause colds. Humans do not develop immunity after being sick (if only moderately so) with a cold virus.
Hey Pete—I just noticed that the US COVID-19 count for USA went up to 53 on J. Hopkins site. I clicked on the largest red dot and it said 36 @ undisclosed location.
After playing with the zoom, it appears to be in Kansas to the west of Coffeyville and south of independence.
These are from the Diamond Princess according to the description. That represents a change—before they were showing the Diamond Princess numbers as other for a while.
I’m thinking that this could be the majority of those 40 that they tried to move in CA, but the court blocked.
Yeah, that article makes a great point: South Korea has an excellent health care system, but, unlike Singapore, the virus has really taken off there. My guess is that they got a couple infected people in a large church congregation, and it was off to the races... Could happen anywhere, really: Soccer match, basketball game, etc., because how the heck do you catch all the potential “spreaders” when 80% of those infected show no or only mild symptoms?
What does Dr. Li think will happen to the number of infections, and consequently the death rate, when the Chinese Gov’t uncorks the area in and around Hubei Province (roughly 100 million people, I believe)? I don’t see how they can possibly sustain that level of confinement: They’ll kill more people than the virus itself in a worst case COVID-19 scenario.
You are right, you don’t want just to supplement you want something done and in order to do so you want at least anywhere from 3K to 5K of (that’s 3000mg to 5000mg) of C and at least half as much or better of NAC. Besides it is nearly impossible to overdose on this stuff and your body will thank you for it. And you don’t have to get any fancy C either as long as it is buffered like calcium ascorbate as by itself ascorbate is too acidic and could give you he trots. Stay healthy and well.
