have you ever heard of a book called 50 Shades of Grey and its popularity?
Spain suffered under Muslim rule for a thousand years. Spain is not an Islamic friendly county.
Zero sympathy.
There would seem to be a significant conflict between your post and Post #5.
“I bet they were signaling consensual sex.”
Consensual and probably rough. Contrary to the me-too’ers concept, there are women who like to be “overpowered”.
S&M is one thing. But sex with muslimes is dabbling in bestiality.
I do have sympathy.
These young women have been indoctrinated by popular culture and possibly college education that Muslim culture is peaceful and superior to Western Christian culture.
Why wouldnt they go to a party that is expected to have a large Muslim population.
And the modern pick-up culture has normalized young women going home with men.
Personally I find almost everything about modern culture stupid, foolish and anti-woman.

Three fools out looking for Mr. Goodbar. Wonder which fool left first - the eldest???
It all boils down to one thing: money. Battle reenactments bring in tourists and tourists bring in money. Spain is very dependent upon tourism and if the Muslims don’t have something to replace the money they can complain all they want but it won’t do any good.
If you are into playing 6 degrees of separation I can sit outside on my terrace and see the birth of America. The Muslims were driven out of Spain by Ferdinand and Isabella. They took over the Alhambra and made it their palace, where they granted an audience to an Italian explorer called Christopher Columbus. And the rest, they say, is history.
There is also a castle directly across from our house. In the time of the Muslims the castle used to be connected to the rocks where the cross is by a bridge. There also used to be a harbor there, which attracted all the attention in the first place.
Thank you for posting. I have been there. We vacationed in Spain 9 times between 2002 and 2012. I am planning to walk the Camino de Santiago this year or next.
I walked from Sarria to Santiago last year. I was planning on walking from Porto this year but my wife fell ill and now she can't be left alone.
Here is a 4 minute video of the town I live in through the seasons. I shows our yearly Theater festival, Jazz festival, one of the largest fireworks shows in Spain, Semana Santa, the Three Kings parade and general highlights of our town. It also shows snow, but that is to show how close we are to the Sierra Nevada mountains. We never even get close to freezing but you can swim in the Mediterranean for breakfast, ski all day and be back for a nighttime swim if you chose to. We retired here 4 years ago and love it.
“”They of course were likely propagandized through 12+ years of modern American schooling, but probably needed that to be reinforced at home too to be so clueless.””
Why are FReepers so ready to stretch things to such ridiculous conclusions? This is not the way NORMAL people react or behave to such stories. Oh - they were fed propaganda!!! It really gets old blaming everything on how people received their education.
“”And the modern pick-up culture has normalized young women going home with men.””
That makes more sense than blaming it on propaganda they were fed in school...We can thank the women’s movement for deleting the word “shame” from our vocabularies. Certainly caused a lot of heartache for parents. Amazing that parents could do all the right things following their own upbringing and see it torn apart by brainless women burning their bras!
