There's profound skepticism in Congress about Sanders' ability to get his agenda passed. Two-thirds of Democrats in the Senate have not signed on to Medicare for All, which would cost an estimated $30 trillion to $40 trillion over ten years. And that's just one of Bernie Sanders' many proposals. There's also free public college, cancellation of all student debt, a federal job guarantee, and a Green New Deal to rapidly reduce carbon emissions.
Anderson Cooper: How much will that cost?
Bernie Sanders: Obviously, those are expensive propositions, but we have done our best on issue after issue-- in paying for them.
Anderson Cooper: Do you know how all-- how much though? I mean, do you have a price tag for-- for all of this?
Bernie Sanders: We do. I mean, you know, and-- and-- the price tag is-- it will be substantially less than letting the current system go. I think it's about $30 trillion.
Anderson Cooper: That's just for Medicare for All, you're talking about?
Bernie Sanders: That's just Medicare for All, yes.
Anderson Cooper: Do you have-- a price tag for all of these things?
Bernie Sanders: No, I don't.

The cost?
Our individual freedom.
Bernie would undoubtedly say that bread lines are a good thing, while he has his 3 Dachas.
I love Bernie. He’s my favorite Muppet.
Except for him. I heard he has 3 dachas. He probably wants 3 more. What an evil putz.
I don’t know; I just watched a bit of the debate. It was just to see the front-runner attacked publicly by a Dem candidate.
Asking “how much will it cost” is asking the wrong question.
Socialized medicine will have incredible hidden costs, including decline in quality of care, availability of doctors, nurses and drugs, long wait times, deterioration of the brick and mortar health care infrastructure, etc etc etc.
That does not include the de facto death panels, whatever name they choose to use to hide their true purpose.
That does not include the need for thousands of nanny state mandates “to improve your health”—you must do this, you can’t do that..
How much will it cost?
Everything.
I don’t care; he doesn’t seem to be going anywhere anyway. Whatever following Buttigieg has can now question whether or not Bernie has any real answers.
I want them to keep the circular firing squad going until the election...
Yeah, I can agree with that. Wasn’t trying to give you a hard time.
These candidates all have their big programs to sell.
It is so weird to see them rip into each other when they are all on the same page with most issues; I just hope each one’s followers are getting more dispirited/demoralized with each passing day...
If he stated a number, it would be a lie.
I do to and I agree with your take on it.
He does not CARE how much it costs.
He does care about how much his buyout from Bloomberg will be.
Thanks - I almost feel sympathy for old-school Dem supporters, watching this craziness. Almost...
And where are you going to get that from, Bernie?
Wife and I watched it tonight. Shes a moderate Democrat. She turns to me and says shouldnt he know this? lol
Sanders introduces bills to ban fracking and clean up PFAS from drinking water nationwide
Its long past time to toss this filthy, dangerous activity into the dustbin of history.
Our only hope would be if Trump can pack the SCOTUS well enough, he might lose some suits at that level.
I would like to know what authority gives the government the power to accomplish this massive takeover of the economy and control over citizens’ lives. I realize the ship we are on sailed a long time ago but still, how would things be different if we did not have the Constitution at all? No different that I can see.
