In the USA and any other technologically advanced society, where the imprisoned present no further threat to society, the death penalty is sinful.
It is an injustice to take from our children in order to feed, house, and contain them.
“In the USA and any other technologically advanced society, where the imprisoned present no further threat to society, the death penalty is sinful.”
I agree. I am still haunted by the public execution of Timothy McVey. Disgusting.
You take the prize for willful blindness. This guy continued killing even behind bars. As long as he drew breath, he posed a threat to society. Now, he does not.
Any imprisoned murderer can kill other inmates or guards - or they could escape and kill again.
You are not wise enough to determine what and what is not sinful
The question is not sin but law.
Nope...there is NO current option that assures "no further threat to society". Not in the US, nor anywhere else.
If the Romans didn’t have the death penalty, there would be no Christianity...
Theres always a threat.
Dipstick.

Utter nonsense. The murderer in question, and all other convicted murderers should be publicly hanged within a week of their conviction. NO EXCEPTIONS . . . and no consideration whatsoever concerning motive.
“imprisoned present no further threat to society”
Oh you mean like diverting money from programs that help the poor and aged to pay the 100000 a year it takes to house and feed and guard and provide medical care to each of these inmates?
To refuse to do due justice for those murdered by such inmates is also sinful. If a man is a murderer then he needs to have his life taken from him. God provides the “sword” to each government and it’s appointed officials to exercise such judgment. It’s a job for grown-ups to look evil in the eye and then do away with it.
It is good the man repented....I’m glad we will see him in heaven in a body that is incapable of sinning and murdering.
When we become advanced enough that the imprisoned present no further threat to society, let us know.
Why should society pay for housing or sustenance? Get real. Those type of animals are of no use, and are continuously dangerous. God demonstrated the death penalty.
It is people like you that are destroying America.
Go to Canada or to France or somewhere your misguided views are acceptable
“the death penalty is sinful.”
No, it is not. Why should I be taxed to keep a predator on society alive? Prisons are sinful as they allow those we do not trust to live among us to continue to take from us.
Not a biblically based assertion, but worthy of consideration ... of course an earthquake or other natural disaster can suddenly release into society what should have been put down and let God sort them out. Not to mention the danger to the folks inside guarding these devil’s children.
