He says Governor Cuomo has waited too long to address concerns with New York bail reform and the assemblyman says he's getting blowback for speaking out, telling CBS 6s Anne McCloy the governor's office has even asked him to stop tweeting against some of the governor's initiatives.

He needs to take responsibility for this, he needs to acknowledge theres a problem, said Asm. Angelo Santabarbara (D-Rotterdam).
When it comes to New York's criminal justice reform, Asm. Santabarbara is pointing his finger straight at Governor Andrew Cuomo (D- New York).
At the end of the day hes the one who put his signature on it, hes the one who made it law, Santabarbara said.
Santabarbara says the state's new discovery laws are hurting rural areas. The new law requires prosecutors to submit evidence to the defense within 15 days, but Santabarbara says smaller jurisdictions don't have the staff, leaving lower level cases on the back burner.
Some municipalities are not even pursuing traffic violations anymore, because they have to devote all their resources to the more serious crimes in order to meet that 15-day period, Santabarbara said.
After a tweet from the assemblyman appeared on Fox News Channel in mid-January, criticizing the governor for focusing on the state flag instead of public safety, Santabarbara tells CBS 6, staffers from the governor's office sent him an urgent text message, before telling him over the phone the governor was not happy with some of his recent tweets and didn't want to see any more like this.
Anne: Do you feel like he's punishing you for speaking out?
Santabarbara: Theres no way to tell. I can tell you there is funding I have been waiting for, for a long time.
