In a very California story, inter-union drama appears to be marring the introduction of a bill that would require porn stars to get business licenses.
On Tuesday, Assemblymembers Lorena Gonzalez (DSan Diego) and Christina Garcia (DBell Gardens) introduced Assembly Bill (A.B.) 2389. The bill would require adult entertainers and video performers, including webcam performers, to obtain a business license and complete a state-mandated training course before being allowed to ply their trade.
Requirements for that training would be developed by the state's Department of Industrial Relations (DIR), which would, in turn, be advised by a new 10-member, governor-appointed board composed of two adult film actors, three dancers, two medical doctors, a therapist, and a money manager.

Licensing is needed for quality control.
If I acquire an STD while doing my job, that would be an Occupational Illness, and I could make a Worker’s Compensation claim.
How about passing a mandatory course in American history, heritage and the constitution before being allowed to run for office? Now, that's a license I could support.
I just completed the syllabus AND the training materials. Excuse me while I go submit my invoice to the State of California.
Kind of like facebook asking you to send them your nude photos so they can be sure they dont fall into the wrong hands
“and complete a state-mandated training course before being allowed to ply their trade.”
I want to see the syllabus for that course. These people are just crazy. I’m telling you we are putting the wall in the wrong place.
California will ultimately outlaw all private employment - keeping every single citizen on the government payroll makes tax collection and redistribution much more orderly.
When Californians finally rise up against the Dimbulbcrats, they’ll make billions and billions selling tickets to the public execution of those vermin.
Perhaps Bill Clinton will be on the governing board, along with Anthony Weiner, R Kelly, Kevin Spacey, Roman Polanski and Woody Allen.
This would be comical if it weren't so sad.
Once you have a super-majority, the sky's the limit.
There should be occupational licenses for state legislators.
Hey Nanzi. There’s a chance you may have some work once you leave Congress. Oh baby!
Jeffrey Epstein is no longer available.
Well, they eventually go around to taxing sex.
We have got to get together and come up with a licensing course if this bill becomes law.
Imagine the field trips.
Who trains the trainers?
What? No licenses for “cam guys”? Sounds a bit misogynistic.
