Former Rep. Katie Hill (D-Calif.) spoke with ABC's George Stephanopoulos on Thursday about biphobic rhetoric playing a part in her resignation.
Stephanopoulos asked Hill on ABC's "Good Morning America" if she regrets not fighting for her position, with Hill affirming that she "made the right call" stepping down from office.
"I did not want to be a liability to my colleagues," she said. "We knew from the people who had obtained the [explicit] photos that there were hundreds more images and text messages out there that I had no idea what they could be, or taken out of context."

The California lawmaker denied the allegation, but admitted she engaged in a relationship with a campaign staffer before being elected to Congress, calling it "inappropriate."
In her interview on Thursday, Hill maintained that the reaction was "sensationalizing" and "biphobic."
"The bisexuality is a huge part of it – there's a fantasy element of it," Hill said. "There's biphobia that is rampant still, and certainly a misunderstanding of what bisexuality is."

She takes no responsibility for her actions. She was either so drunk or high it completely obscured her judgment. She let people around her take compromising pictures and she trusted them with the photos.

I do think it’s unfair that she got into trouble with all the other politicians having affairs.
Good question. This is a good example of a situation in which we just aren’t allowed to have social norms. And if Im not mistaken she violated various laws and regulations of Congress relating to intimate personal relationships with staff.
But none of that matters to her. She plays the victim; society is just not with it relating to “bisexual” sexual relationships. In her mind, society in just too intolerant.
Kind of like Jeff Bezos trying to blame President Trump for the photos he took of his wiener being published in the National Enquirer, when it turned out it was his girlfriend's brother who stole the photos from her phone, and sold them to the paper. And then Bezos wants only rich elitists like himself to be able to pick who the President is going to be.

No one knew she was bi. Then those photos came out and it really didn’t matter what gender she was clearly having sex with; it wasn’t appropriate for her job.
Biphobia is a thing. It’s when no one will date someone who happens to feel attracted to both genders. Neither gays nor straights sometimes want to date the bi person. They all think they alone can’t satisfy the bi person. But that is not this woman’s issue. Her sloppy life is what hurt her career.
You know who really hates bisexuals? Gays and lesbians.
I couldn’t care less who she slept with.
That she was stupid enough to take photos of herself in compromising positions shows an incredible lack of maturity and discretion and could lead to her being blackmailed.
