I’m seeing more and more products from India in dollar stores and such, but they are as cheap as Red Chinese stuff; was looking for some small utensils for a chuck box, and the silverware wasn’t much stronger than plastic stuff. Couldn’t imagine stirring anything thicker than soup with the spoons, for example.
Clue:
You were bottom of the barrel merchandise shopping in a store that sells cheap stuff. Quality is inversely proportional to cost. You were committing a purchasing error in searching for quality in a store that sells cheap
I understand that; thank you. I’m finding that for items like this, I’m better off finding an old American item at a flea market than buying new in a store.
(FWIW, I didn’t purchase the Indian spoon)
Post-debate, mini-Mikey was in far worse shape than Dingy Harry after his workout with rubber bands.
What was Trump’s slogan in 2016?
Make AMERICA Great Again.
Everyone on the planet knows two things:
1) the virus is China’s fault
2) EVERYONE in the government hates Trump and has been dragging their feet if not actively sabotaging him.
If the virus screws things up, Trump blames globalist outsourcers for throwing Americans under the bus twice:
first for sending their jobs to China
second for cheap crap from China and NO backup plan
If the virus is an epidemic here. Trump says, I told you we needed to vet foreigners/build the wall and wins in a landslide.
Not to mention there are a couple of nasty surprises for Trump to unveil about literal bribery/treason in favor of China. I bet arresting the head of the Chem Dept. at freakin’ HARVARD is just the tip of the iceberg.
DANN YOU AUTOCORRECT, YOU REPLACED “CHINA” WITH CUBA!
If everyone in the Democrat party, never mind the planet, knew of these facts or even partially credited them, CNN and MSNBC would be off the air in the New York Times and the Washington Post would actually be bankrupt.
As it is with all his world beating record that he can justifiably point to, president Trump cannot poke his head above 50% approval.
To you and me, the Cavanaugh hearings and the impeachment trial fiasco would lead any rational person to abandon the Democrat party forever. Yet nearly half the country or more believe that Trump should have been removed from office.
I find the state of affairs repellent but I don't know how to overcome them unless we acknowledge the danger and set out forthrightly to defend against it now while we are on offense and the economy and the death toll have not thrown us onto defense.
In politics as in hot war, if you are not on offense you are losing. Get ahead of this now!
Trusting the polls is like trusting China on Coronavirus statistics.
Hillary had a 98% chance of winning, remember?
Hillary won the national count as predicted and the state polls were mostly within the margin of error and in some battleground states dead on.
If Mama's baby is dying and Papa is out of work, it is folly to rely on day-old polls one way or the other, for or against our side. If people are dislocated in the dimension of the Great Depression or even somewhat less than we are seeing in China, the entire political landscape will heave up as in an earthquake.
Expect the electorate to have the memory of gnats, they will only want to know what the politician is going to do for them now. In times of turmoil men turned to the man on horseback, big government, new deals, Bolsheviks, Nazis, Fascists. With the economy in shambles, the healthcare system disintegrating, babies dying and families destitute, relying blithely on a political platform that half the country does not even now accept is utter folly.
The down side to preparing and getting ahead of this problem now is negligible, the human cost and the cost to liberty later can be a crushing forfeit.
