Just breaking my heart with one. (sarcasm) I have no problem with pre-dawn raids on criminals. If Blago was concerned about those daughters maybe he should not have sold a Senate seat. Trump thought he had served enough time and commuted his sentence. I don’t agree with it but it’s done.
His wife I believe was the reason he ended up in jail in the first place as she was hounding him to get paid off for that seat. You could even hear her in the background yelling at him on that taped phone call demanding he get paid. What I find astounding though, is he never went through with it yet still went to jail on a 14 year sentence for conspiring a pay for play, something Hillary Clinton has actually DONE countless times! Just ONCE he merely conspired and they slammed him with 24 federal charges. Something don’t smell right there, and I believe he was set up by the Hillary/Obama Chicago crew. Let’s hope Blago has some beans to spill about that.

I was really impressed at how articulate he was, how he did not carry a vendetta, or came out smearing, how MUCH he wanted to be with his daughters, how much he loved his wife. I would hope that he is allowed to go on a campaign trail and swing some of the Democrater voters of Illinois.
I hope Trump undoes Mueller’s, Comey’s & Weissmann’s legacy 1 pardon & communtation at a time.
Wow, nice delivery. Got shake his hand one time he was working a crowd when running for congress. It was outside the chicago historical society that president clinton and jesse jackson were inside for some event.
I wouldn’t put him with Trump on the campaign trail, but he can do some media Trumpocrats for Trump appearances on his own.
Yup, they were thinking about sending her to jail too, but they backed off because of the two small children. I guess they added on her time on to Rod sentence.

Neither do the Democrats.
President Trump could have a plan, or he could just be trolling the Democrats. It not like Blagojevich was a serial killer or that he had not spent time in prison. So I am ok with this even if we do not know why (other than the stated reasons).
It could be that Blago’s sentence being commuted was a shot across the bow of the Comey/Mueller ship-and maybe the way pres Trump uses their history of excessive charges and methods to kick start investigations while he publicly washes his hands of the matter and lets it all go to DOJ. Nice, legal and guaranteed to drive Nadless, Nancy and the rest closer to the abyss...
You never know. He definitely has the touch, and perhaps he could repay this by trying to get something good going in his miserable town.
Also, the person I really want pardoned is Martha Stewart. They hated her because she was from a working-class Polish family in Jersey and she made it on her own...and encouraged other people to think that they too could make their houses and lives look as beautiful as anybody else’s. So therefore, paradoxically, they decided she was “elitist” and had to be brought down a notch. Or maybe they just hated the people who watched her show and read her magazine.
It was a gruesome trial, where she had told all of her employees to tell absolutely the truth (about a phone call or conversation, I forget which) and they burst into tears on the stand because she treated them very well. And the whole deal (“insider trading”) was fake anyway.
Just in passing - I remember a shoeshine guy at Grand Central who died a millionaire because he had simply overheard things while he was doing the shoes of bankers and brokers.

Blago knows Chicago. I cannot believe Trump did this as simply a magnanimous gesture. Something is up.
In my opinion he thought the punishment was too excessive, hence commuted (Not pardoned so will still need to meet often with a probation officer), setting up for Flynn, Gates, and Stone later on.

And if I recall correctly from reading a book about the entire episode, Patrick Fitzgerald, the US Attorney was behind (or in front of) the prosecution of Blagojevich. Same dirt bag who prosecuted Scooter Libby...
