He could make a great mark for good, I hope he is encouraged and supported. I’d have to hear more but this short talk sounded very good. I will pray for him and hope other praying folks do the same.
You never know. He definitely has the touch, and perhaps he could repay this by trying to get something good going in his miserable town.
Also, the person I really want pardoned is Martha Stewart. They hated her because she was from a working-class Polish family in Jersey and she made it on her own...and encouraged other people to think that they too could make their houses and lives look as beautiful as anybody elses. So therefore, paradoxically, they decided she was elitist and had to be brought down a notch. Or maybe they just hated the people who watched her show and read her magazine.
It was a gruesome trial, where she had told all of her employees to tell absolutely the truth (about a phone call or conversation, I forget which) and they burst into tears on the stand because she treated them very well. And the whole deal (insider trading) was fake anyway.
Just in passing - I remember a shoeshine guy at Grand Central who died a millionaire because he had simply overheard things while he was doing the shoes of bankers and brokers.
I thought his press interview was excellent.
