Trump Offered Assange Pardon if He Covered Up Russian Hack, WikiLeaks Founder’s Lawyer Claims

LONDON—A lawyer for Julian Assange has claimed in court that President Trump offered to pardon Assange if the WikiLeaks founder agreed to help cover up Russia’s involvement in hacking emails from the Democratic National Committee.

Assange’s lawyers said on Wednesday that former Republican congressman Dana Rohrabacher offered Assange the deal in 2017, a year after emails that damaged Hillary Clinton in the presidential race had been published. WikiLeaks posted the stolen DNC emails after they were hacked by Russian operatives.

The claim that Rohrabacher acted as an emissary for the White House came during a pre-extradition hearing in London.

Assange has argued that he should not be extradited to the U.S. because the American case against him is politically motivated. He spent almost seven years hiding in the Ecuadorian embassy in Central London claiming that he would be jailed in the U.S. if he wasn’t granted asylum. He was kicked out of the embassy last year.

His lawyers told the court that Trump’s alleged offer to pardon Assange proved that this was no ordinary criminal investigation.

Edward Fitzgerald, who was representing Assange in court, said he had evidence that a quid pro quo was put to Assange by Rohrabacher, who was known as Putin’s favorite congressman.

The Mueller report exonerated President Trump and his campaign of any collusion with the Russians completely independent of anything to do with Wikileaks or Rohrabacher. This story is recycled old news.

Whatever the lawyer might say about Rohrabacher would be refuted by him and Assange publicly announced that Russia had nothing to do with the leaked emails without any pardon or even awareness of President Trump.

This whole story makes no sense if you understand that Trump knew he was innocent and did not interfere with Mueller’s witch hunt.

And of course, Dana Rohrabacher, along with any spokesperson for President Trump, was unavailable for comment prior to press time.

This may not be Assange’s idea.

If not, that poor *******’s days may be numbered.

Not a fan of John Kelly, but Trump should thank him for keeping Rohrbacher away.

Anyone who does not realize that does not know that they had to resort to framing the president and failing to do so in any way

The Dems know the truth is about to come out, so they’re trying to flood the news with as much disinformation as possible before it does. Don’t know how they got to Assange’s lawyer, but Assange already made it clear there was no Russian hack, as do the computer forensics.

Too bad the corrupt AF DNC refused to permit the FBI to investigate the alleged ‘hack’.

“Trump offered to pardon Assange if the WikiLeaks founder agreed to help cover up Russia’s involvement in hacking emails from the Democratic National Committee.”

Now why would the Trumpster care if the Ruskies covered up something? There would be no reason to care if the Ruskies or some rogue staffer stole the emails as far as the Trumpster is conserned but there is a pile of stories cropping up that are outside the realm of belief about outlandish stuff toed to the Trumpster and his administration. Just wonder if they are doing a last ditch effort before the Trumpster pulls the pin.

The claim is absurd on its face. JA put info provided him online for all to read. He doesn’t do “cover ups”. How was he supposed to do this exactly. This lawyer is a moron. Of course that means he can relate to democrats. LOL

There are some pretty stiff libel laws in England. I’m surprised that the Daily Mail would report something so irresponsible.
