Former Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich, freed from prison Tuesday, heaped "profound and everlasting gratitude" on President Donald Trump for commuting his sentence.
"President Trump is the one who did this, and I'm ... profoundly grateful," Blagojevich, who was a Democrat, told reporters Tuesday night at Denver International Airport.
"He's got obviously a big fan in me," said Blagojevich, who has gone totally gray since entering prison. "And if you’re asking me what my party affiliation is, I’m a Trump-ocrat."
"He didn't have to do this. He’s a Republican president; I was a Democratic governor," Blagojevich said. "My fellow Democrats have not been very kind to him. ... In fact, they’ve been very unkind to him."

Agree, and the fact that the IL Gov. and bigwig D politicians here are all furious today about this and screeching at Trump for freeing this horrible criminal early is a sure sign it was the right thing to do.
Now let’s wait and see what the newer grayer Blago is all about. He has little to gain by trying to ingratiate himself with the Dems, he owes a lot to Trump, and who can argue that going from his former lifestyle to 8 years in prison can change a man? He say’s he’s closer to God, let’s hope that manifests itself in some good ways.

That shouldn't be entirely surprising to anyone--I can't imagine someone looking younger and more vibrant, having returned from prison.
Still, I read that Blago had always dyed his hair, but hair dye wasn't allowed in prison. Wouldn't be surprised if he gradually darkened it over the next months and years.
Agreed. I thought it was excessive at the time. I would have given him 2 years, a fine and community service.
And yet he still says he's a democrat.
I thought a commutation results in a lesser sentence not actually freeing someone from jail, which is what a pardon does.
I wouldn’t be surprised if it changed today. Blago isn’t the sharpest tool in the shed.
I’m really puzzled by your comment. Did you bother to look at the list of pardons and commutations or are you just too lazy?

Knowing the liberals, they will proclaim that this is trump doing quid pro quo, as in he pardons a dem for the right to pardon Stone and Manafort.

I believe commutation just ends the remaining sentence, but does not absolve the conviction. So while Blago doesn’t have to stay in prison, he still remains convicted of the crimes he committed.

This statement makes absolutely no sense.
It is our duty to judge.
We have to judge.
We couldn’t exist if we didn’t judge.
There would be no rule of law if we didn’t judge.
What we can’t do is to know what’s in another mans heart but we can and should and even have to do is judge his actions.
what i understand...all he did was “talk” about what he actually was convicted of...not a dollar changed hands...no favors of any kind done...
