Michael Tracey: Bloomberg Campaign ‘The Most Brazen, Oligarchic Intervention In The History Of American Electoral Politics’

Independent journalist Michael Tracey called former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s campaign “the most brazen, oligarchic intervention in the history of American electoral politics” during a Monday night appearance on “Tucker Carlson Tonight.”

Discussing the fact that Bloomberg has bought his way into near Democratic front runner status in lieu of traditional campaigning, Fox News host Tucker Carlson asked Tracey to analyze “what it means for the country.”

“Bloomberg rightly surmised that he was not going to go and ever win the presidency on the strength of his political convictions, because they are completely ugly and despicable and alien to much of the country, so what has he done?” Tracey asked before answering his own question by bringing up Bloomberg’s “vociferous focus purely on bashing Donald Trump.”

Instead of campaigning, the former New York City mayor is building his “constituency” on hatred for the president and the belief this his billions can beat Trump, Tracey contended.

“Bloomberg recognizes that,” he said. “He says, ‘Look, I’m uniquely equipped to beat Trump. I’m going to flood your daily consciousness with these tedious ads that have been market tested to press your emotional buttons,’ and that’s what he’s doing. It’s paying off.

Like you suggested, this is the most brazen, oligarchic intervention in the history of American electoral politics, and it’s not even close. It’s hugely disturbing. Whether you are on the right or left, anywhere in between, you should be incredibly alarmed at what’s going on here.” “And yet, you are one of the only people on the Internet saying this, which tells you how fully corporatized our media has become,” Carlson responded.

What else can he buy?!! Those that tally the votes? Makes you think.. if he can buy the pollsters he can buy ANYTHING including imported bus loads of voters to polling places!! WE HAVEN’T SEEN NOTHING YET! Trump’s campaign team won’t know what hit them!! Crooked as hell! May God curse Bloomberg’s money and bankrupt him! But then again seems like God blessed the liberal Jews abundantly!

Billionaires often construct for themselves a “no rules” bubble, in which do whatever they like; they simply pay professional fixers to straighten out any consequences that emerge.

Agreed.

Before he is done, Bloomberg will be the most hated man in America—by everyone, left, right, center.

RFK (who I disagreed with on _every_ issue) had several attributes Bloomberg can’t even imagine:

(1) Real charisma
(2) True public speaking skills
(3) A coherent policy viewpoint
(4) Big time grass roots support
(5) The most popular family in the country at the time

Bloomberg is despised by the Bernie crowd (in particular the younger ones). Most of those types held there noses and voted for Hillary last go round. They won’t do it this time. Go out and read the political forums on Reddit, they loathe him. The Dems are in a bad situation, they choose Bernie they are going to lose more of the center, and if they choose Bloomberg, it is going to put a dent in their far left.

“I don’t see how this will add up to a winning number of EC votes.”

indeed ... ESPECIALLY with bloomberg running ads explicitly and repeatedly attacking Bernie’s supporters, not bernie himself, but bernie’s SUPPORTERS!

how the hell does bloomberg think he’s going to get that very sizeable and energetic group to vote for him if he gets the nomination by attacking them like that?

This is Hugh!

Even bigger than the Rockefellers.

And the Kenndys.

Hell, even George Washington, who owned 1/4 of Virginia.

For those born and raised in Dinuba, that’s far richer than Bloomie’s $60bil. And had established political influence far greater than his.

If Mini Mike gets the RAT nomination, the Berniebots are going to stay home or vote for PDJT.

Bloomberg’s dementia allows him to be easily controlled. His dementia is not going to improve, on the contrary, it will become more obvious by November.

More importantly (to them), in Bloomberg they see a chance to stick their faces back on the trough of our money, unimpeded by the Orange Man and Crew.

Don’t forget the RBG SCOTUS seat is at stake too. They already sold their souls, what do they care if the new demon in charge humorless and a tad short.

“The strategy didn’t work with Hillary a la “deplorables””

indeed ... and her “deplorables” remark was practically a throw-away line, whereas the bloomberg ad was a deliberate and sustained and repeated attack on a very large segment of Dem voters that bloomberg HAS to have to have any chance in the general should he get the nomination ... what the HELL were mini-mike’s highly-paid campaign “geniuses” thinking ...
