Bloomberg qualifies for next debate, and rivals are getting ready

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Former New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg on Tuesday qualified for this week’s Democratic presidential debate in Nevada, putting him on the same stage as his rivals for the first tie in the race for the party’s nomination.

The debate on Wednesday will be the ninth in the contest for who will challenge Republican President Donald Trump in the Nov. 3 election.

A late entry to the race, Bloomberg, 78, has risen in public opinion polls as he pours money from his estimated $60 billion personal fortune into a national campaign, spending hundreds of millions of dollars on television ads.

When he takes the stage on Wednesday, he is likely to be challenged directly by rivals over his use as mayor of a policing policy widely seen as discriminatory and of supposed sexist practices at his company.

How does he qualify? I thought he had literally zero votes/delegates.

He has the money. Whether he could pull off the swing is another matter.

After horrid debates with nothing happening except boring leftist talking points, the Nevada debate has the potential to mirror the upcoming caucus—total chaos and insanity.

Hopefully they all get off script and start blasting each other....

Trump should just ignore this clown show.

Just tweet “meh... who cares?” after the next one.

Then refuse to answer any questions except as to how it related to different policies they would change.

Let them call each other names, just agree with them.

Who would you consider the biggest threat to Trump?

Voter fraud (mail-in ballots, vote harvesting).

The economy festering due to China; except Trump has been saying all along,”America First!” so business owners trying to tighten the screws and double down on failed treason/globalism will be pilloried.

It also depends on Q (i.e.) why the full-court press against Barr in the last week out of nowhere?)

I thought these debate ability or one could attend was based on how many donations came into the campaign. Did the DNC change the rules to allow Bloomberg a seat? If so where is the media and DNC outrage? The Bernie zombies should be up in arms and marching on the debate. This smells like a sham and I should not be surprised at this point but its right out in the clear so everyone can see it. Corrupt to the core.

DNC = Dirty Nefarious and Corrupt

[Voter fraud (mail-in ballots, vote harvesting).]

In this respect, Bloomberg, with the billions he claims he will spend, would be the biggest threat. If he becomes the nominee, he’ll have a very personal stake in the outcome of the election. He’ll not only want to be elected with a hefty electoral mandate, he’ll want hefty majorities in both chambers so he can ram through the legislation he wants. That means amping up the voter fraud in ways only billions of dollars of funding can. You think voter fraud is bad now? Think of what it will look like with 10x the funds devoted to it, courtesy of Bloomberg, because he will spend what he needs to win.

The thing about Bloomberg that people don’t understand is that he is a formidable personality. Height and looks are just a veneer. They don’t confer great ability, and great ability is what Bloomberg has. You don’t dethrone a financial news organization (Reuters) with a head start of over 100 years, and price your product in excess of his without having significant leadership skills. Ability-wise, what makes Bloomberg different from (and far superior to) Romney is that Romney’s expertise was in moving line items around on existing businesses. Whereas Bloomberg built a business from scratch whose sole focus was in crushing the long-standing incumbents in the business.

And this personal ability is what has wafted Bloomberg above Steyer, who has spent similar sums of money on a campaign that has struggled to move beyond the low single digits in the polls. Bloomberg knows how to use both cash and personnel in ways that pack a punch. This is essentially a re-run of what he did to elevate Bloomberg LP from a tiny office in Manhattan to a 20,000 employee organization. Whereas Steyer’s just a glorified fund manager whose principal leadership experience is with managing numbers on a spreadsheet.

In life, there are very few indispensable men. But for the current Democratic party, Bloomberg is one such personality. With any luck, Bloomberg will be knocked out by Sanders, and we won’t have to worry about him in the general. But he is Trump’s most dangerous potential opponent. He is a venomous diamondback that, in the age of the Borgias, we’d arrange to dispose of via a discreet poisoning, or a random mugging gone bad.

Bloomberg does OK in debates. He’s not going to win any awards for charisma, but he’s well-prepared, quick on his feet, and not prone to emotional outbursts.

He’s got connections to other rich people.

He got rich selling tools to bond traders.
But he doesn’t have an existing bond with the American public.

My only fear is that since this is for all the marbles they will come up with *new* ways to cheat, which the slow, lazy, dishonest, incompetent, and stupid govt. bureaucrats charged with countering, won’t even have dreamed of.

Those that are even patriots and not Omoeba moles.

IF that happens, look forvthe military to stage a coup.
Which would likely involve about a dozen blue cities...

It’s been easy for Bloomberg so far... just pay professionals to run ads to make you look good. Now the long knives are out for him and his defense better be as good as his offense or he will fold quickly. And whatever Slow Joe or Pocahontas can dish out at him is nothing compared to what Trump will do.

I’d like to see the Republicans - or some political cartoonist (Ramirez comes to mind) do a parody of that classic “Jaws” scene.

The DNC guy looks over the stern of the boat and sees Bloomberg surfacing with his mouth wide open. Stunned, the DNC guys says, “We’re gonna need a bigger box.”

He’s doing well enough in the national polls. They removed the donor requirement.

He did not want to debate.

He’s not on the ballot in NV or SC, not on it till Super Tuesday.
