Michael Bloomberg may have just lost his shot to get the Democrat’s 2020 nomination based on a resurfaced video in which he says the elderly should not get full medical care in order to save money.

“If you’re bleeding, we’ll stop the bleeding. If you need an x-ray, you’re gonna have to wait,” Bloomberg told a Jewish family, explaining his view on how our medical system should work.
“All of these costs keep going up, no one wants to pay any more money,” he continued. “And at the rate we’re going, health care is going to bankrupt us. So not only do we have a problem, it’s gonna be [unintelligible] and say which things we’re gonna do and which things we’re not. No one wants to do that.”
“If you show up with prostate cancer, and you’re 95 years old, we should say, ‘Go and enjoy…Lead a long life. There’s no cure, we can’t do anything.’ A young person, we should do something about it. Society’s not willing to do that yet.”

But it’s THEIR decision, not the decision of someone behind a desk somewhere.
That sort of decision shouldn’t be made solely on the basis of age. I’ve met people over 90 who have very full and active lives and some who even still work. OTOH I’ve met people in their 60’s who are just plain OLD.
Age should only be one factor in making decisions, not the deciding factor

My friend shattered her hip at 95 years old and was infected with Vancomycin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus

Bloomberg is going to ban everything he deems unhealthy and force people in to health camps. Imagine his childhood. Sounds like everything he did was controlled.
I won’t get this totally correct, but when he was mayor of NYC wasn’t there a bomb detected near Times Square and Bloomberg said maybe it was a white guy who couldn’t get healthcare that planted it? Something like that, I don’t want to speak out of turn.
What’s the big deal? That’s EXACTLY what happens in Great Britain and their NHS.
Most people who support these government run, tax-payer funded programs are ignorant of the “small print.”
For years, the NHS has limited kidney dialysis for people over a certain age. There are lots of restrictions on who can get what care, since medical care IS rationed in the NHS.
Free college? Sure, as long as you’re actually capable of “making the grade.” If you don’t pass the tests that establish the potential student’s aptitude to successfully graduate with a degree that will further the interests of the government, then there is no college for the person.
People who support these things tend to be the useful idiots.

The truth is that elderly people in the future will not get CERTAIN TYPES of medical care that are paid for with OTHER PEOPLE’S MONEY.
Not if they are paying with other people's money.
If you want something you can't pay for and you want other people's money for it, it becomes, inevitably, a political decision, not a personal one.
