02/13/2020 Egypt (International Christian Concern) – Last month, an Egyptian court sentenced to ten years in jail the individuals in Karm village responsible for stripping an elderly Coptic woman, Souad Thabet, of her clothes in 2016. Five Christian houses were burned during the incident. Following this sentence, pressure in the village has been building towards the Coptic Christian community.
Last week, a reconciliation meeting was pursued. These are meetings between Muslims and Christians where, theoretically, justice for the wrongdoing is conducted outside the judicial system. In practice, reconciliation meetings are used to force Christians to abandon their pursuit of justice, and often even force them to give up even more of their rights.
The first reconciliation meeting was held on February 2nd, as local Christians feared that the prison sentence would incite local Muslims to violence against Copts. During this meeting, the Christians changed their testimony to say that they did not see any of their houses burning. Saoud Thabet was the only one who did not change her testimony. The testimonies of those other Christians during the reconciliation session was confirmed on February 10th, leading to the judicial case to be postponed until April 16th

You know, I can’t think of one instance where Christians raped, beat, undressed a woman in pubic, stoned a woman for being raped, or as a general rule had relations with little boys and single digit girls.
By their fruits you shall know them, and their religion.
Doesn’t the world know, understand and sympathize that all these people were doing by stripping the elderly women was all done just to make their god so proud ofof them. All they wanted was for their god so happy and pleased. So give them a break just think how much a better place the world would be if every elderly women was stripped naked in the streets. The world just needs to me more understanding. / sarc of course.
I just left Egypt Sunday after a 10 day tour. The Egyptians I saw were not fanatic Islamists. Although they still have the call to prayer through out the day i never saw anyone praying anywhere. I did see armed guards and solders all over the place, security is very strict.
The call to prayer and women wearing veils or even worse burkas are two things I hope to outlive. They are both fundamentally stupid and so outdated.
Fanatics and sex abusers aren’t the majority of muslims, but those that are constitute a significant minority. Unfortunately, the bad muslims dwell amongst the OK muslims and use them as cover and a bit like human shields so that people feel mean confronting the bad ones and catching the innocent ones in the crossfire of condemnation and distrust.
Egypt was once non-muzzy. Now it’s almost 100% bearded savage, and is useless to the civilized world.
Why isn’t the 10 year sentence of the perp in the headline??
