He reminded me of Paul Lynde, and perhaps for good reasons.

Of course they do. And if it's repeatable, it won't take long to figure out what set of weird conditions trigger the problem.
“perhaps for good reasons”
Yes.
Right! This is just an energy saving feature. It is part of the go green movement.
“Of course they do. And if it’s repeatable, it won’t take long to figure out what set of weird conditions trigger the problem.”
30 years ago that might nore have been the case; however, they “kept” records of Epstein’s cell watch, too....
How well are Boeing prospective hires researched before they are put on the line or in the cubicle?
Is this a flaw or a feature?
Boeing, how are those indentured servant H-1B programmers working out for you?
The lowest bidder must comply with Specifications and certification of proof of passing tests
And how's that workin' for ya?
737NG is 25 years old now.
Code is written in Iowa.
Coded by whom is the question. Im guessing indentured servant H-1Bs from India and other areas abroad.
Have no fear! Caroline Kennedy is on the Boeing board of directors. A bargain at just $359,000 or so per year. I know many consider her to be a stammering idiot but i’m sure she is qualified to sort this problem out. Just as she was qualified to be bammy’s ambassador to Japan.
From the AD. The software problem has already been taken care of for scheduled airline airplanes.
“The FAA has confirmed that the faulty version of DEU software has already been removed from all airplanes conducting scheduled airline service into the affected airports. This AD is intended to address unscheduled diversions and Boeing Business Jet (BBJ) flights into the affected airports. This condition, if not addressed, could prevent continued safe flight and landing.”
I'd guess that some set of unusual conditions caused the software to crash, as opposed to the software deliberately turning off the displays. Perhaps a situation where it crashes when conditions A,B,C,D, and E are all true but that condition E is only very rarely true and they didn't account for that possibility. I don't know, it's just a generic guess, but if it's repeatable, it won't take long to figure it out.
When we took over the Automated Ship Control System for the Seawolf, we found that the original contractor had used the “out of range” features of Ada to cause a software exception if the ship exceeded test depth thereby shutting down the Ship Control Program.
Exactly! It's just another way to tell you are 270 while looking anywhere on the display.
Bingo!
IIRC Lynde had a bad ticker, not AIDS, at least that was the official story.
oops, sorry about that
Latest software upgrade?
