The iconic Plymouth Rock, the landmark that marks where the Pilgrims landed the Mayflower 400 years ago, has been vandalized with graffiti, photos from the scene show
It was among several historic landmarks that appeared to have been tagged by vandals.
The rock, which has the date 1620 chiseled into it, is now covered in red graffiti.
Photos from the scene also show red paint on a statue and red paint sprayed on a stone bench.

George Soule, my 9th great-grandfather was a signer of the Mayflower Compact. They have a re-creation of his house at Plimoth Plantation that I’ve never seen, but hope to see this year. I’ve been to Plymouth, Mass. twice, and to Plymouth, England, and saw where the Pilgrims left from, but I had no knowledge of my ancestor on any of those visits.
I want to bring back the public stocks for crimes like this. Rotten eggs & produce available for spectators to BUY.

Sounds like a good idea to me. I saw Plymouth Rock last summer while on vacation. I remember thinking thank goodness something the left hadn’t vandalized. Looks like I was wrong.

It is an open side shelter. The stone is in a pit surrounded by a guard rail. It is not protected from punk kids.
