A New York City man whos now been arrested 139 times thanked Democrats for guaranteeing his immediate release despite repeatedly swiping hundreds of dollars from unsuspecting subway commuters since the states new bail reform law went into effect Jan. 1.
Charles Barry, 56, has been arrested six times since the start of this year. Hes been released each time without having to post bail under New Yorks new bail reform law since his alleged offenses were nonviolent, the New York Daily News reported. In the past, Barrys served several stints in state prison and has a lengthy record, including six felonies, 87 misdemeanors and 21 missed court hearings, the newspaper reported, citing court records.
Bail reform, its lit! Barry yelled to reporters Thursday outside the NYPD Transit District 1 headquarters in the Columbus Circle station before officers transported him to Manhattan Central Booking. Its the Democrats! The Democrats know me and the Republicans fear me. You cant touch me! I cant be stopped!

And the coastal elite claims moral superiority over me.
They should make this guy the Mayor,
One shot from my 9mm would stop him if he tried to rob me. Oh, that’s right, I can’t carry a gun in NYC.
As someone else on FR astutely noted, he is actually a GREAT example of how bail reform should work. The whole purpose of bail is to make sure the defendant shows up in court. If hes been arrested 139 times, then its obviously easy to find him.
I thought this was the Babylon Bee when I read the headline. Satire is so difficult with the Rats in charge
He needs that. One to the back of the head. Hes had his chances to reform himself
I wonder what China Mike Bloomberg thinks of bail reform?

Needless to say; the mainstream media outlets will ignore this story. NY republicans should use this in campaign ads.
Did you miss the 21 missed court hearings?
Seems to me this is exactly how the Mafia got its start in Sicily; when the government couldn’t or wouldn’t protect the property and safety of its people.
Actually, it was a defense organization against Angevin rule, so sort-of.
Well, he's not carjacking those limousine-liberals, just ripping off the hoi polloi in underground sardine cans because they can't afford car services.
For the elite, it's out of sight, out of mind.
I’m sure the men in blue really appreciate having to complete paperwork while the criminal goes free before the ink is dry./s
Maybe the answer is for ALL residents commit crimes that will get them arrested, only to be freed. Overwhelming the court system may shed some light on how stupid the law and politicians who make the laws are.
So...you didn’t watch the Oscars so you could be berated by your betters?!
True but I hope their over priced real estate takes a dive and their limos break an axle in a pothole.
You have obviously never been on a crowded subway train in NYC, where one shot from your 9mm could endanger the lives of many innocent people. Carrying a firearm requires personal responsibility, and shooting someone in that situation over a pick-pocket offense is irresponsible.
He must be a lousy thief, getting arrested so many times.
Im famous! I take $200, $300 a day of your money, cr----r! You cant stop me! Barry shouted to reporters. Its a great thing. Its a beautiful thing. They punked people out for bullsh-- crimes.
I imagine the cr----r is indicative of "cracker". So he is racist in addition to being a proud criminal. He has all of the qualifications needed to run for city council in NYC.
Typical Democrat
