Rep. Mac Thornberry, a Texas Republican who is the ranking member of the House committee and has announced he will not run for reelection this year,
I will be working with my colleagues to determine the appropriate steps to take," he said in a statement responding to the Defense Department's announcement. That is the appropriate step, Mac. Hit the road.

I would just say this. If you look at the path of the proposed border wall in Texas, it makes no sense. The wall is miles inside US territory cutting many properties into two countries. When they hit the wall, they are already in America and must be processed as such. This is fubar.

Immigration was a very big issue for me in the mid 90s. I
could see where we were headed, and all that mellon-head could do
was talk of amnesty, amnesty, amnesty...
He wasn't a Conservative and he never ever grew out of
the marble mouth thing.
Every time he prepared to talk, I hung my head and thought,
"Here we go..." I'd yell at him through the television.
The man wasn't presidential, and even though global events tossed
him a bone, he really couldn't capitalize on it to grasp the role of
a statesman. The weird facial expressions, the garbling of words, the
mind numbing wording of his presentations... spare me.
I wanted to be on his side. It was just water torture to listen
and realize he and that f'n Karl Rove were were all I had to get behind
during that eight years.
The second time around, I wore a respirator and voted for the guy.
He thanked me by handing off the nation in the worst condition
it had been in in over 90 years. I realize all the damage was put in
motion by Barney Frank and the demoncRats, but he did nothing
to stop it, or even make it less severe.
If Trump hadn't come alone when he did, GW would have successfully
set Conservatism back at least 60 years.

Its a lot easier for pols to steal money from off shore defense appropriations than it is for something being built along the rio grande with tv cameras on it every day

It’s still infinitely better than NO wall.
(Or the Bush Administration Illegal Alien Gold Card which Michelle Malkin wrote about.)

The Supreme Court has already ruled on this. Thornberry needs to be schooled.

Another “cowardly lion/weak sister” on his last legs. Hope he breaks both during a border inspection by falling into a cartel tunnel. Oh would that be justice!

Hmm, wonder why he not running for re-election? Wait......./s

Another clueless bureaucrat. Trump has spent $2 trillion on the military and this ass-wipe is critical of a few billion in spending on national security.
These incompetent morons should be fired.

My guess would be that there are kickbacks that are threatened by Trump’s action. In the swamp, it’s always about money.
