Attorneys for Roger Stone on Friday requested a new trial, just a day after saying they were looking at potential bias by a juror who voted to convict the longtime Trump aide of lying to Congress and witness tampering.

One of the counts against him was lying to Congress. He never got a subpoena to testify before the House. He went on his own amidst all kinds of self-generated publicity because he's a showboating jackass.
No, he doesn't.
He lied to Congress which he should be held accountability. I know I would
Does he deserve jail time, probably not.
At minimum probation and a reasonable fine.
Apparently Stone’s lawyers tried to get this juror dismissed precisely because they knew she was not impartial, but they were overruled by the judge in the case.
You can't be charged with a "process crime" if you avoid the 'effing "process" in the first place.
Stone should, however, rot in prison just for going to such great lengths to testify before Congress in the first place.
I’ve said from time to time that if I was ever questioned about a crime I’d have no problem talking to the cops *if I knew I was innocent* but wouldn’t if I knew I was guilty. But seeing what’s happened to Trump’s friends/associates/employees there’s no way in hell I’d ever say a word to the Feds if it was *they* who were questioning me...regardless of how innocent I might be.
I would let a child molester or an arsonist spend a night in my home before I would ever spend 10 seconds talking to a Federal law enforcement officer of any kind.
No, he doesn’t.
He lied to Congress which he should be held accountability.

I’ll consider lying to a Congress a crime when those worthless bastards start being thrown in jail for lying to US.
This Judge will not let that happen, but it will provide a good basis for Appeal which has a good chance of succeeding.
... they were looking at potential bias by a juror who voted to convict the longtime Trump aide of lying to Congress and witness tampering.
********
Bias by “a juror”? His lawyers would never admit this publicly, but the whole DC jury pool is infected with bias against Republicans. DC Republicans must surely have a growing awareness of how it felt to be black in the old South. Sorry angry Freepers, but that’s probably why so few swamp Democrats are getting what they deserve.
They raided his Florida home. They should move it there if not dismiss it in its entirety.
For Roger: time served and let’s all get on with our lives.
Amen!
Yes, that is what I read as well. I agree he was all puffed up and willing to go behind closed doors to talk. How stupid.
“He deserves to have all charges dismissed.”
AND, total financial restitution by the assholes who caused him to have to bankrupt himself defending himself on these bogus charges.
“,,,but in a case like Stone’s one would think that such questions might be asked.”
I read elsewhere that during the voir dire she said she didn’t know who Stone was. But evidently there are social media posts that prove this statement untrue. That would be perjury.
What did the bagpipe say to the fat, lazy, prissy AG Barr?
Blow me.
Oh absolutely. He is an attention whore conspiracy theorist who thought this was going to be great publicity, increase his credibility and put him in the headlines. He was not even playing the same game as the DOJ, and wasn’t smart enough to realize that he was in their sights.
That doesn’t excuse the DOJ’s persecution of him. Lot’s of people, far more powerful than he, lied to congress and the FBI/DOJ, and they were never close to being jailed and bankrupted. He should have been offered a deal to plead to lying to congress for a small fine and a short sentence. The SWAT raid was a crime in and of itself, and I think someone SHOULD go to jail for that.
But the question is...assuming she did make such a statement would she have been under oath at the time?

You're so right. Check out this Youtube video from a law professor about all the ways talking can screw you up, innocent or not, with some additional lecture from a friend of his that's a police detective with the same advice.
OTOH, all the sound advice seems a little pointless, because near the end of the video, they make the point that the interviewer can testify in court that you said anything he wants, and no video or audio recordings nor signed statement is required for it to be admissible. If they can claim you said anything they want, clamming up and not talking to them doesn't seem very protective.
