Now that Bernie Sandersonce an obscure socialist senator from Vermontis officially the front-runner for the Democratic presidential nomination, it is time to confront what that means.
It does not mean the U.S. is flirting with socialism. Thats not going to happen. The meaning of Bernies ascent is that the Democratic Party, older even than he is, has simply run out of gas.
The Democrats resemble Europes aging political partiesBritains Labour, Frances Socialists, Germanys Social Democrats and Christian Democrats. All have simply deflated with voters.
Signs of public fatigue with the Democrats could be seen in Iowa and New Hampshire.
Besides incompetence, the big story out of Iowa was low turnout. In New Hampshire the story was voter indecision. Once past Bernies 25% cement-block base, many voters were flipping a coin in the voting booth to pick from the other candidates.
What does it mean that Elizabeth Warren, by now a household name, got dropped to fourth place? Joe Bidens humiliating fifth is a personal disaster, but what does that say about the party itself?
Circling overhead is Mike Bloomberg, supposedly the partys savior. The truth is Barack Obama was the partys final savior, and a second coming isnt likely. Recall the talk after the 2016 election about how the Democrats had no bench. They just rolled benchless into 2020.
The Democrats floundering to find a candidate is deeper than the split between moderates and the left. It looks to me like the accumulated costs of its long history as the self-declared party of government are finally coming due.

The Democrats remind me of the buggy whip industry. The salesman are still trying to sell the product that doesn’t sell anymore, but they still have all of the old buggy whips and are trying to get somebody to buy them. (or whale oil, etc.) We have never had more power to get rid of them. they are suffocating with their own tired, worn out ideas that no reasonable person would believe. They have sold Blacks emancipation for centuries, but are treating them more like sharecroppers or indentured servants. I see a swing starting to happen in the Black Vote because they are tired of being lied to.
There are the same number of moderate DemonRats as there are real unicorns.
Socialism looks a lot better to voters than it used to - thanks in no small part to corporate globalists' wage-suppressing pursuit of open borders and mass legal immigration, and the Journal's cheerleading for same.
We could win if republicans are willing to put the stake through the heart of the democrat party. They’re not. Republicans are going to end up losing everything again. If they won’t fight for this then what are they willing to fight for?
Another bull shyte article, by people getting paid good money.
The democratic party today, is the same it was 5, 10 maybe 25 years ago.
Are you ready for this?
IT TOOK DONALD J. TRUMP TO FERRET THEM OUT AND GET THEM TO SHOW THEIR TRUE COLORS.
He, and he alone has outed them all. There’s no place to hide, and the collusion with the media, is there as well.
Bernie is just a placeholder. Someone to “be there” until 2024.
Kind of like Mitt was. Like Kerry was. Like any challenger facing an incumbent.
The Incontinence Party
In the old days incontnence wasnt just messing yourself but failure to restrain yourself sexually ... which perfectly matches the post sexual revolution DNC in terms of elevating what people do with their junk as the highest expression of the pursuit of happiness.
Im just old enough to recall that one of the ways to be called a fascist by people who never faced fascism was to suggest that they be morally upright.
Please forgive my curiosity but is incompetence related to ... inability to reach climax during ... relations?
They are acting like a wounded animal, searching for a way to strike back before they are eaten.
The misjudgement is to believe the strength of the Democrat party was based on a realistic of assessment of the Party by the electorate.
That has not been true for at least 50 years.
The strength of the Democrat party was always in the Media's ability to lie and mislead the electorate about the Democrats.
The ability of the Media to create the narrative, choose what stories to allow in the news, determine what is a scandal, and what national candidates are "acceptable", was the strength of the Progressives, and most Progressives (far from all) were Democrats.
The Media ability to control the information flow no longer exists.
Oh really??? We have a generation of voting age fools never taught the perils of socialism in our left wing indoctrination day care centers, masquerading as schools. According to Watters World these people can't even identify the Secretary of State. They are called millennials. We have millions of illegals who thanks to motor-voter laws and sanctuary cities and counties, can self-declare themselves eligible to vote. And they do. In droves. They don't vote Republican. This article is whistling in the dark. The chances of Bernie Sanders getting it are very good indeed. Don't even start the "pearl clutching" accusations. Wake up people.
When the symbol of the Party becomes a petulant elderly woman angrily ripping up mere paper copies of words containing the ideas of America’s then-current, duly-elected President, then that Party’s hold on the public mind may be as tattered and frayed as the pre-torn paper she had prepared for her play-acted tantrum of defiance.
That’s impotence.
Why did the trannie wear a three piece suit to his sex change surgery?
“Because if I’m going to be impotent, I want to look impotent!”
Bernie doesn’t have a chance in hell of winning.
Perhaps youre referring to Electile Disfunction...
;-)
Bourgeois Bernie. Karl hated them. The Marx Bros. would’ve laughed at him. Uncle Joe would’ve put one in the back of his head and kicked him into a shallow grave. What’s your FAKE STRUGGLE, Bern? Trying to keep a straight face?
Putz.
Maybe not, but the socialist ratchet keeps tightening a few notches as we move into the third decade of the 21st century. I figure it’s coming sooner or later.
