The decision to decline charges appears to be a move to distance the Justice Department from President Trump, who has long attacked Mr. McCabe.
Andrew G. McCabe, the former deputy F.B.I. director and a frequent target of President Trump, will not face charges in an investigation into whether he lied to investigators about a media leak, his defense team said on Friday.
The decision by prosecutors in Washington ends a case that had left Mr. McCabe in legal limbo for nearly two years. It also appears to be a sign that Attorney General William P. Barr wants to show that the Justice Department is independent from Mr. Trump: The notification came a day after Mr. Barr publicly challenged the president to stop attacking law enforcement officials on Twitter and said the criticisms were making his job more difficult.

Not charged with lying to an investigator... Hmmm? And Roger Stone is facing 7 - 9 years for a conviction tangent to an unsuccessful investigation into a non-existent Russia-Trump collusion case?

I fear for the nation. No, perhaps it’s better to simply say I mourn the nation. Stick a fork in it. It’s dead.
On one side you have every person trying to destroy our institutions, our Founding Father’s reputations, our Founding principles, and our Founding Documents. They detest law and order, and support full blown anarchy.
On the other side, you have people who love this nation, support it’s institutions, law, and order.
Then you have the ruling class which Barr has just declared to be 100% against law and order, and you have it clearly mapped out for you.
Just turn the headlights on and get in line.

Here’s my take based on Barr letting comey and mccabe walk.
Barr will NOT indict ANYONE hoping that (or maybe even participating in) Trump loses/losing the election come November.
I now think that has been his JOB ever since he was put in place.
I now feel that Barr is 100% in on the continuing coup!!!
Someone sure does over promise and under deliver.
Leaks only happen when Reps and Trump supporters are targeted or indicted. Notice no leaks anymore.
If I had to venture a guess, I would guess that Barr’s interest is preserving the institution, not President Trump, who is a temporary (i.e., 8 years max) placeholder. I could, of course, be wrong.
