One of the biggest mistakes that political analysts, especially those who spend a lot of time on Twitter, often make is they assume voters are as engaged in the process as they, or their audiences, are.
The reality is that, largely due to media fragmentation, the average (more accurately, median) voter is even less educated in comparison to us news junkies, who have never had more information instantly available than what we can easily access today.
Consequently, at least half of the massive electorate for a presidential general election has been, whether we like it or not, paying very little, if any, attention to the race at this point. Any information they have gleaned from all the media coverage of specifically the Democratic contest has been largely by accident, and their base of knowledge would be roughly that of what the least enthusiastic person at the Super Bowl party you just attended possessed about the Kansas City Chiefs.

Ok, then I will look forward to future updates. Will you share your thoughts on the general at this point in time?
Gotta agree.
Someone I know was religiously following and wanting to talk about the RAT “debates.” I asked her, “Why bother? You’re going to vote for whoever runs against Trump anyway.”
Got a vacant stare in response.
In over 50 years of voting, I have NEVER been swayed OR convinced by any campaign ad.
Campaigns are nothing but HUGE money laundering enterprises.
Yes. I’ll have to read that Dean Koontz book. It sounds really good. I have to say it must be quite confusing to be an actor or actress. At some point you must not even know who you are anymore. I mean it must be like a form of mental illness, in a way. It’s very strange. It’s like giving your soul to the devil for money...
Yes. Biting my tongue it’s all I can do with my extremely liberal sister. She lives near Madison Wisconsin, I suppose ‘nuff said.
Holy cow. That is so sad. We used to have civility in this country. Apparently not anymore.
My gosh what are sports teams whose home colour is red going to do about this problem? *A sad LOL*
Great news! And no Mr. President, we will never get tired of winning. Nor will the country, the entire country, the ones who are too afraid to say that they support you.
Also, another problem, is that most people have given up landlines for cell phones. My husband did and he is 55!
By the way, The Good Doctor is a great show. The actor on it was in Bates Motel, I think.
I must disagree, Mr Noble. I think it will be Trump in a landslide. Choosing the Democrat opponent oh, well that is going to be a nail biter, at least it looks all right now.
I know what you mean. My extremely liberal Democrat sister will never change her mind, no matter how great you can point out how things are under Donald Trump. I get the same crap here in Canada. I just don’t bother anymore. Canadians will hate any Republican, no matter how good he is no matter how many positive changes he has effected, as has President Donald J. Trump.
I just wish he could be president for longer! I guess Mike Pence will run in 2024;I just hope and pray that it doesn’t turn out like the Bush years, when it seemed the Vice President never quite matched the performance of the President. Too tired to remember the example that I’m thinking of, if that makes any sense. LOL!
Anyway, President Trump should enjoy some well-deserved rest and private time with his lovely wife and family. I’m sure Melania would like to get Baron out of the spotlight, something she has done very well to this point. Unlike GW’s daughters, particularly Jenna. I’m sure that Laura did her best, but her daughters were pretty much adults by then. I can’t remember the last time my 20 year old daughter listened to me!
We have never met. You do not know me....and yet you say that my statement, "In over 50 years of voting, I have NEVER been swayed OR convinced by any campaign ad." is not correct.
smh
What is the opinion worth of a person who is ignorant?
I am watching the video now—great stuff—those who think they cannot be manipulated (they know who they are :-) ) need to understand how the magic is done.
None of us is immune—the best we can do is avoid advertising in all of its forms—it is toxic stuff.
and national polls are absurd at this stage.
That the composite of state polls showed a commanding Trump lead is what most likely triggered the impeachment drive last summer.
We both enjoy the Good Doctor - the “hokiest” part is his girlfriend - the rest is excellent.
