Barr blasts Trump's tweets on Stone case: 'Impossible for me to do my job'
ABC News ^ | 13 Feb 20 | Anne Flaherty

In an exclusive interview, Attorney General Bill Barr told ABC News on Thursday that President Donald Trump "has never asked me to do anything in a criminal case” but should stop tweeting about the Justice Department because his tweets “make it impossible for me to do my job.”

Barr’s comments are a rare break with a president who the attorney general has aligned himself with and fiercely defended. But it also puts Barr in line with many of Trump’s supporters on Capitol Hill who say they support the president but wish he’d cut back on his tweets.

“I think it’s time to stop the tweeting about Department of Justice criminal cases,” Barr told ABC News Chief Justice Correspondent Pierre Thomas.

When asked if he was prepared for the consequences of criticizing the president – his boss – Barr said “of course” because his job is to run the Justice Department and make decisions on “what I think is the right thing to do.”

“I’m not going to be bullied or influenced by anybody ... whether it’s Congress, a newspaper editorial board, or the president,” Barr said.

Does Barr mean that its becoming to keep turning a blind eye to the corruption in his own department, and (gasp) he may have to do something about it?

And what has been going on since 2016? The world’s longest, slow motion “impeachment.” The problem was not Barr, but that Trump didn’t pick the right people to start with. Sessions et al. should have nipped this in the bud rather than opting out or playing along.

I’m sure Barr is going after Biden, but Trump should stay out of that too. The Biden family did commit actual crimes but If Trump keeps up ranting it just looks like a personal grudge.

So whats the point on going public other than letting everyone else know he needs to keep the appearance of political separation to function in the role correctly.

That’s sufficient.

Its taking too long way too long, and we the people feel
it will never happen, so we have lost faith in everyone being the same in the application of the law and justice.

This is horrible for our once great country.

Make America Great Again. No more deep state.

It is smart for Barr to put some distance between himself and Trump. I’d be willing to bet that Trump and he discussed it beforehand.

I don’t think it is throwing a wrench. I think Barr is holding up a shiny object and throwing the media pack off what he intends to do. It is very clever.

Why is AG Barr whining to the media, why doesn’t he simply pick up the phone and talk to the President directly?

Because the audience here isn’t the President. An AG needs room to operate. If he doesn’t get it, at the least he can be forced to recuse himself, and we’re back to where we were with Sessions.

While there are political aspects of the AGs job, ensuring justice shouldn’t be obscured by those aspects. Holder and Yates were strong examples of what not to do. Trumps tweets on pending cases obscure here, even if they shine light on many things that need light shone.

Yesterday the lefties and media wanted to impeach Barr, now Trump has put them in the position of defending him.

Good observation. :)

This BS that DOJ is independent of the President, remember
Eric Holder?

And need I remind you that JFK had RFK his brother as his
AG?

So this is only if its a GOP President. But the fact is
Trump can fire the AG just like he fired Comey.

Trump would probably quit Tweeting hints if Barr would quit lavishing praise on corrupt DOJ officials. And also admit Epstein was Murdered.

Exactly. I want the President to quit tweeting about cases and Barr and Dunham and other good folks do their jobs. Now Barr has to go testify again because of President’s tweets.

People are tired of being dragged through the tweets and waiting with baited breath the reprecussions.

Oh boo-friggin’-hoo!!! Welcome to President Trump’s world! Every day he has to contend with ankle-biting TDS malcontents. Yet he still plugs away. How does the tweets of the president prevent him from seeking the truth?

Tweeting is not going away, it certainly won’t end with Trump, it’s the new reality and way to communicate directly to the people outside of the gatekeepers of the mass media.

98 percent of MSM are libs
98 percent of college professors are libs
98 percent of donors working for feds are giving to Dems
98 percent of Internet Masters of the universe are libs

they have a lock on getting the info out as to what
Trump has accomplished.

Now if they were to be able to silence his Tweets
they would have it all in their favor.

We can’t let that happen because fake news is not the only thing that would be 98 percent fake.

So, this #FakeNews story has probably been well-distorted to serve the Left.

Barr is on videotape here. Did you watch it?

Not much for ABC to "spin." They are Barr's own words.

All true.

And Barr has declined to prosecute Comey, twice, even though that worthless twit Horowitz recommended it.

And Barr said Epstein killed himself.

'Nothing' to indicate Epstein death was not a suicide: Attorney General William Barr

He might be the only person in America who believe that.

I guess 3 cameras watching his cell failing "simultaneously" and the tapes "lost" is just a whoopsie!
