There are currently 65,213 confirmed cases worldwide, including 1,486 fatalities.
Bump.
To insinuate that this thing was grown in a lab is BS. Their ambassador said so and we have no reason to doubt his word.
Do I really need a sarcasm tag?
I have read that even before symptoms there are ground glass opacities in the lungs that are visible on CT scans.

From AZLiberty a few days ago:
The following doesnt qualify as much more than a rumor, but its the truth as far as I know.
My brother and his Chinese wife are hosting a couple from China. The couple have a relative working in the Wuhan bioweapons lab, 8 miles from the market reputed to be ground zero of the epidemic. The couple left China in December, and are not planning to go back.
The story from inside the lab is that the virus came from laboratory animals. The animals were stolen from the facility by cleaning staff, who sold them in the market.
Someone mentioned the movie Contagion earlier today. We saw it a couple of nights ago. Eerie similarities with the current situation, including a virus, China as the source, and deadly consequences.
We discussed Bannon’s excellent podcast, on the precivious thread.
He is ON this virus, with such a great selection of professionals and various guests.
Here’s the link to Bannon’s Warroom, for those interested in listening to these great, informative podcasts...

(Yesterday’s cast was also great, they discussed masks/shortages/manufacturing of.)
Stolen lab animals 😱
Investigative reporter calls up a funeral home director in Wuhan. He got the director to eventually start talking REAL numbers of dead.

Chinese will eat any damn thing.
That was one of my initial suspicions.
The ‘non wet market people’ may simply have ridden public transportation with the people who had the animals to sell.
(but the fact that they’re DOING this particular kind of interspecies stuff with BL3 or BL4 pathogens should be a wake up call in itself)
I’m waiting for the follow up on that Boise man as well. Please Ping if anyone hears.
Man those guys in the lab in San Diego with the vaccine better start giving it out now and not wait until this summer as reported.
Sad, but true.
Tech-heavy daughter ordered a keyboard. Gets back an E-Mail today saying sorry, but nothing coming from China now.
Just got real for her...although she’s not surprise, not one bit (thanks to me).
Agree....
Maybe Chinese labs should be inspected like Iran nuke facilities.
Only....who’d want THAT job? Hans Blix?
Well, that certainly escalated, quickly.
“If this is confirmed it raises serious issues about Chinas research controls and the risks it entails to the rest of the world.”
From what I can tell, Boeing’s position on the 737-Max was that if there was an autopilot runaway, the pilots would pull the power to it, per their training. If they didn’t do that in time, well tough, it’s not Boeing’s fault that they weren’t trained properly.
So guess what company got ZERO orders last month, first time in 60 years, and guess who’s in front of Congress trying to explain it away? (hint - not Air Indonesia, or whoever they are)
My point being is that we can give China the technology and the hardware to deal with Level 4 bugs, and offer the training. But if they don’t take it seriously...then it is THEIR FAULT. Well, it’s a small world, as Boeing has learned the hard way.

Yea, I’ve bought a lot of crap in the past 3 weeks, but I haven’t seen any signs of supply disruptions. However, I am noticing some of the prices starting to tick up - which does make sense.
Want to get really real? Look up what percentage of our pharmaceuticals depend on ingredients from China.

NEW: Patient of Japanese surgeon with coronavirus tests positive for the illness; he’s in serious condition
The doctor became ill on January 31 but showed up for work for 3 days earlier this month, during which he worked with patients

Yea, I heard about that a while ago and built up several years worth of supplies (despite being told to trash them due to trace asbestos, from China).
So, at this point, I can ride things out for quite a while, although I do feel bad for people who weren’t as paranoid as myself.
