Thanks for the new thread.
Thanks!
Ouch. :-(
Abc news is reporting 245 deaths in the past 24 hours.
Continuation of ping from yesterday...Bring Out Your Dead
Post to me or FReep mail to be on/off the Bring Out Your Dead ping list.
The purpose of the Bring Out Your Dead ping list (formerly the Ebola ping list) is very early warning of emerging pandemics, as such it has a high false positive rate.
So far the false positive rate is 100%.
At some point we may well have a high mortality pandemic, and likely as not the Bring Out Your Dead threads will miss the beginning entirely.
*sigh* Such is life, and death...
If a quarantine saves just one child's life, it's worth it.

White House does not have high confidence in Chinas coronavirus information, official says
Possible nCoV death in Boise, ID
71-year-old man found dead on Feb 9 in an advanced state of decomposition
returned from China Feb 5
initial testing came up negative, but additional tests are being run
cause of death has not been released
This is the old guy we were discussing last night.
Praying the additional tests come back neg.
Imagine all of the handles/doors/surfaces he touched, coughed/sneezed on, between China and Boise.

Coronavirus super-spreaders: Why are they important?
Cuz someone always has to be an overachiever.
Steve Bannon’s Warroom Pandemic is a great podcast with excellent and informed guests that provide good scientific information on the virus. His guest today was Dr. Sachun Lin of the US Army Medical Research Group who is a “virus hunter” that has seen the actual genome analysis of the COVAD-19 virus.
What he has found is that the structure of one of the two critical proteins in the human virus is exactly like the original bat virus. Under normal evolutionary conditions this would have a probability of 1 in a billion of being passed across species naturally. There were also indications that the second “spike” protein is also nearly identical with the original bat source. This expert said that based on these very improbable structures he believes the virus did not occur naturally but was modified by genetic methods that only changed those structures that allowed it to cross species. This would only have occurred in a research lab for test purposes and then was accidentally released out of the lab through some unknown contamination source.
If this is confirmed it raises serious issues about China’s research controls and the risks it entails to the rest of the world.
I said last week. This is someone’s pet that got loose.
I wonder how far along a patient has to be for CT scans to show infection.
