A North Korean official was executed for going to a public bath while he was meant to be in quarantine, a report in the South has claimed.
The trade official was arrested and immediately shot after risking the spread of coronavirus by visiting the public bath, the Dong-a Ilbo newspaper reported.
The official had been placed in isolation after travelling to China with Kim Jong-un imposing military law to enforce the lockdown, sources said.
North Korea has not yet confirmed any cases of the virus, but has taken drastic measures to stop it spreading over its border with China.

I think I’d rather visit Wuhan than go to a public bath in North Korea. Or anyway, it’s a toss up.
I suspect that there will be no more quarantine violations in NK.

One death is trivial compared to tens of thousands of deaths if the bug is released into the winter weakened North Korean population.

However; Fatboy must be terrified at the prospects of this virus getting loose in N. Korea. It will spread like wildfire and there will be nothing he can do about it. Well, other than shooting everybody with a fever.

I have to give them credit. Kim Jong-un knows that if it takes hold in his country they will be powerless to do anything about it. Unsavory as it is, this may well be the the best course of action for them.

30 day quarantine now in North Korea. I know of no other country that has imposed such a lengthy period. This concerns me and should all.
If the North Korean media said it was sunny out, I’d double check to be sure.
For shade tree engineers, the way to prevent failure is to design and then add a large safety factor.
For north Korean shade tree communicable disease officials, the application of a generous quarantine safety factor is sort of a CYA pronouncement
