Lieutenant Colonel Alexander Vindman, the former National Security Council aide and impeachment witness President Donald Trump fired Friday, was just doing his job, former White House Chief of Staff John Kelly told students and guests at a Drew University event here Wednesday night.
Over a 75-minute speech and Q&A session, Kelly laid out, in the clearest terms yet, his misgivings about Trump’s words and actions regarding North Korea, illegal immigration, military discipline, Ukraine, and the news media.
Kelly, a retired Marine Corps general, said that Vindman is blameless and was simply followed the training he’d received as a soldier; migrants are “overwhelmingly good people” and “not all rapists”; and Trump’s decision to condition military aid to Ukraine on an investigation into his political rival Joe Biden upended long-standing U.S. policy.

Most of what he says in this article implies that he had policy disputes with the President, not that Trump was committing “crimes” as the Democrats allege.
I thought the President’s staff was supposed to carry out his policies, not try to impose their own?
If he has different political views he wants to promote, Kelly should run for office himself, not try to sabotage the current CIC from within.
This is the arse that convinced Trump to stay in Afghanistan. My sole problem with Trump is in who he hires and this clown is Exhibit A; you are in a position of confidence and you betray every bit of it, he is probably writing a book to make money now. Makes me sick.

Roger Stone was very prescient - he warned against the hiring of this guy, McMaster and other self-important Deep State types that had their own agenda and had been elected to nothing. For a military officer to betray his commander in chief who elevated him to a position of authority amazes me and shows what a low rent, scheming type this Kelly was and is. I’m sure his book is coming next.
Trump massively increasing DOD budget and this is the thanks he gets? We’re going to have trillion dollar defecits becasue of that and Trump is going to pay a price politically. And this is the thanks he gets? Honestly, I’ve never seen a bigger bunch of ingrates than “Trump’s Generals.”

It was clear Kelly was working against Trump from the start. Yet another bad hire on Trump’s part.
Using money to get another nation to enact your policies is deserving of impeachment unless you use money to raise the drinking age to 21 or lower the speed limit to 55.....then using money as leverage is just fine.
I would guess that more people than not in the world are 'good people' and 'not all rapist' but they don't belong here and don't have a right to be here..
