Warren says 'broke college student' donated half of account balance to keep her in 2020 race

Warren, the senator from Massachusetts running for the Democratic presidential nomination, retold the story in an interview on MSNBC Tuesday night after a disappointing performance in the New Hampshire primary where she wasn't awarded a single delegate.

She said that a "broke college student with a lot of student loan debt" approached her in the "selfie line" at the end of her primary event. The senator said that the young woman told her, "I checked, and I have $6 in the bank — so I just gave $3 to keep you in this fight.”
