An investment firm is orchestrating a bid from friends and supporters of President Trump to purchase conservative news network One America News Network (OANN). That’s according to a story in The Wall Street Journal.
It is says that Hicks Equity Partners is trying to pull together financing from other wealthy Republican donors to make a bid for the network for about $250 million.
Hicks Equity is reportedly owned by the family of Thomas Hicks, Jr., a close friend of Donald Trump Jr., and the co-chairman of the Republican National Committee (RNC).
Some say the proposed purchase comes at a time when President Trump and his supporters are increasingly dissatisfied with Fox News and its failure to “tow the party line.”
OANN President Charles Herring says that the network is a reliable news source for a national audience and that interest in the network is on the rise with the 2020 election season in full swing, according to the story.

I would hope that Rush and Hannity would be involved (and possibly O’Reilly who is a big draw, even if not terribly conservative) - especially on the broadcast side, as that would make it more likely that the network would get picked up by cable and satellite providers that pipe content into 100 million+ homes. That’s the only way, IMHO, to get a conservative TV outlet into a lot of homes quickly. It is clear that the Murdoch boys are intent upon making Fox into MSNBC-light, leaving NOTHING for the 40% or so of the public that is conservative.
More importantly, getting the word about OAN out there will draw viewers.

The only problem with the network now is that it has a low-budget quality to it and is not carried by all TV outlets. If some rich friends of Trump's were to buy it, I would like to see it become pro Trump/pro conservative all the time. The MSM is so unabashedly left that I would like to see OAN become totally right wing, with no pretense of "fair and balanced". For that reason, I would not bring in O'Reilly.
They are very amateurish but straightforward. The documentaries with Rudi re Biden/Ukraine however are really good, but need impact outside the network.

Yes - true, the problem is that some of us are stuck with spectrum (I think A T &T ?) and they won’t put it on their cable.
