I definitely have mixed emotions about this. Part of me is very happy that Sanders won, because I think that Trump will utterly destroy him. I don’t think that most voters are accepting in any way of a communist to head our government. Make no mistake, he can call himself a socialist all that he wants, but socialism always turns to the violent side when it fails - and it MUST fail because it tries to change that which cannot be changed, human nature. Socialists are simply communists without the guts to shoot people in the back of the head. Otherwise, there is simply no difference between them, no matter what they call themselves. Democratic socialist, outright socialists, Mensheviks, Bolsheviks, communists...in my book they are all the same. Same wall, different wallpaper.
On the other hand, Sanders scares me to death because of what his popularity means. It is quite evident that something north of 40% of the population will vote for him, and that is sickening and scary as Hell to me (my paternal grandfather ran from Russian Communism and his father was murdered by it, so I know what people in it’s grip can do). There is also at least a small chance that he could win, and that would be a disaster that would make Obama‘s presidency look like the good old days.

The really bad news for Sanders tonight is the headline below above - he eked out a win.
He could not afford this in one of the states where he should have been the strongest. This was not a strong win and the resistance to Bernie is apparent within the DNC and democrat party.
Sanders needed an overwhelming win tonight so the chaos is going to continue. Lest we forget, both Bernie and Pete will hit the wall in the southern primaries.
