Bill Gates Reportedly Buys $644 Million Aqua Yacht, Shipbuilder Says Sale Hasn’t Happened Yet

Bill Gates has reportedly ordered himself a gigantic yacht.

According to the The New York Post, the Telegraph reported that Gates had ordered the $644 million Aqua yacht from the Dutch design firm Sinot. However, Sinot told the New York Post no deal has been done just yet. Still, if something is in the works, the yacht sounds absurd.

Whether or not Gates ever takes control of Aqua, it’s such a power move to even consider spending $644 million on a boat.

I’ve always been obsessed with yachts. I’m not even sure why, but I just think they’re awesome. A yacht isn’t just a status symbol.

It’s a lifestyle choice. When you’re living on a yacht, you’re essentially telling the world you’re living a carefree lifestyle.

Bigger than the first ship I was stationed on. And we had two fuel oil boilers.

Solar. That is actually possible. But it would have to be some large panels.

Most likely we burn some hydrocarbons.

That's right!

There is some really slick technology that

converts diesel directly into electricity but

I highly doubt it's very efficient.

This is the same guy that has been complaining that Americans make too much money and has done everything in his power to under cut US IT workers importing H-1B wage slaves. I hope he rots in hell one day.

The image of it is really cool. I don’t get the jealousy here. Sounds like liberal sour grapes. Lots of workers make good money building such things, and what’s wrong with a yacht factory building a really big one every once in a while? They wouldn’t exist except to serve royalty or dictators if not for capitalism.

The bigger the better.

Yeah, that’s the odd thing. Rich people get dissed for sitting on all their money.

And they get dissed for spending it too.

That’s because to the class envy crew their real crime is making it.

If I had his Money I would own a Nuclear Submarine.

Preferably one that looked like the Seaview.

Heck, I want a Nautilus Submarine like the one in Disney’s 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea Movie. That is still the coolest Submarine EVA!

Cooler than the Seaview for sure. (well, if it included the Flying Sub it would be a tie)
