Bill Gates has reportedly ordered himself a gigantic yacht.
According to the The New York Post, the Telegraph reported that Gates had ordered the $644 million Aqua yacht from the Dutch design firm Sinot. However, Sinot told the New York Post no deal has been done just yet. Still, if something is in the works, the yacht sounds absurd.
Whether or not Gates ever takes control of Aqua, its such a power move to even consider spending $644 million on a boat.
Ive always been obsessed with yachts. Im not even sure why, but I just think theyre awesome. A yacht isnt just a status symbol.
Its a lifestyle choice. When youre living on a yacht, youre essentially telling the world youre living a carefree lifestyle.

Only One Life Twill Soon Be Past
By C.T. Studd
Two little lines I heard one day,
Traveling along lifes busy way;
Bringing conviction to my heart,
And from my mind would not depart;
Only one life, twill soon be past,
Only whats done for Christ will last.
Only one life, yes only one,
Soon will its fleeting hours be done;
Then, in that day my Lord to meet,
And stand before His Judgement seat;
Only one life,twill soon be past,
Only whats done for Christ will last.
Only one life, the still small voice,
Gently pleads for a better choice
Bidding me selfish aims to leave,
And to Gods holy will to cleave;
Only one life, twill soon be past,
Only whats done for Christ will last.
Only one life, a few brief years,
Each with its burdens, hopes, and fears;
Each with its clays I must fulfill,
living for self or in His will;
Only one life, twill soon be past,
Only whats done for Christ will last.
When this bright world would tempt me sore,
When Satan would a victory score;
When self would seek to have its way,
Then help me Lord with joy to say;
Only one life, twill soon be past,
Only whats done for Christ will last.
Give me Father, a purpose deep,
In joy or sorrow Thy word to keep;
Faithful and true what eer the strife,
Pleasing Thee in my daily life;
Only one life, twill soon be past,
Only whats done for Christ will last.
Oh let my love with fervor burn,
And from the world now let me turn;
Living for Thee, and Thee alone,
Bringing Thee pleasure on Thy throne;
Only one life, twill soon be past,
Only whats done for Christ will last.
Only one life, yes only one,
Now let me say,Thy will be done;
And when at last Ill hear the call,
I know Ill say twas worth it all;
Only one life,twill soon be past,
Only whats done for Christ will last.
extra stanza
Only one life, twill soon be past,
Only whats done for Christ will last.
And when I am dying, how happy Ill be,
If the lamp of my life has been burned out for Thee
See my post 20!
Does it come with the helicopter?
Hydrogen power could be coming to the superyacht scene in a pretty spectacular way, with Dutch company Sinot's latest concept just unveiled in Monaco. The Aqua is a 360-foot (112-m) monster that would run entirely on liquid hydrogen and offer a range of 3,750 nautical miles (4,315 mi, 6,945 km). And boy, is it nice to look at from just about any angle.
The Aqua's huge hydrogen tanks are one of its many design highlights; to visit them, you take the spiral staircase in the center of the boat down to the lowest of five decks, and there they are, glowing with blue light. Two 28-ton, vacuum-isolated tanks designed to keep the liquid hydrogen stable at -253° C (-423.4° F) sitting behind strengthened glass for safety.
These tanks can split off power at up to 4 MW, powering two 1-MW electric propulsion motors and two 300-kW bow thrusters for tighter maneuvering. A 1.5-MWh battery pack acts as a buffer, providing instant access to power and running the ship's electrics, and is charged as necessary by the fuel cell.
Was reading about this yesterday. It's hydrogen powered. The builder is indicating there is no Bill Gates sale of any kind.
Needs outriggers..
WOW!
The deck guns and missile launchers are well concealed!
Well, how do you ‘spect we get the Hydrogen?
We use electricity to separate the H from the O in ordinary water.
How do you ‘spect we get the electricity?
Most likely we burn some hydrocarbons.
Wow! From an old hydrogen guy
I’m sure the State of Washington would be very happy if Bill Gates pays for some new Al Gore approvable ferries.
Greta might actually smile if Bill coughs up the money.
If I were Bill Gates I’d buy the Yacht and anything else I wanted. Put the money back in circulation while making me happy.
Paul Allens beautiful yacht would cruise right past our home on Speiden Channel, along with two security vessels and his helicopter on board.
He cant live on land safely. What better way to avoid a pandemic.
... and offer a range of 3,750 nautical miles (4,315 mi, 6,945 km).
So, how far is it from Seattle to Monte Carlo or Singapore, or is he just going to cruise from Seattle to Cabo?
only applies to sport boats and yachts - we commercial fishermen love our boats and mourn their loss or sale.
I don’t have a problem with a rich guy spending millions on a yacht as long as he is spending his own money. He is creating jobs.
The onboard computers use Linux for reliability.
I hope it was built in the US. Wisconsin could use the work in Sturgeon Bay.
That viewing room in the bow is pretty awesome. Overall its look is too modern for my tastes.
At about a 800ish/1 expansion rate for liquid to gas, that glass wouldn’t make much difference.
