Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti on Monday signed an executive directive aimed at boosting the citys Green New Deal initiative to fight climate change.
In signing the executive directive Garcettis 25th since taking office the 49-year-old mayor insisted the stakes could not be higher.
We must act this decade to save the planet and create a more equitable prosperous and healthy future for our children and grandchildren, he said, according to the Los Angeles Daily News.

What could possibly go wrong?
Now get the tents off the street!!!!
“Now get the tents off the street”!!!!
And the hazardous human waste and needles. They constitute a threat.
I think the EPA fined San Francisco for washing human waste and needles down the sewers and into SF Bay. lol
Maybe the good Mayor should worry about scraping the human excrement off the streets along with the hordes of mentally ill and addicted homeless before he gets started on controlling the weather.
L
I’m embarrassed to be from here.
Thankfully we do not have the waste or needles in LA. SF gives out needles.
I understand that Trump has sent out federal people to clean up LA and SF. we need to get rid of Democrats. Garcetti is busy building condos for the vagrants. They will become slums., no doubt!!!
OK.... but I love LA. I was born here 72 years ago and this is my hometown. I love it here.
The problem is DEMOCRATS and their STUPIDITY.
They’ve ruined one of the greatest cities in my opinion.
Terminal mental illness
They have to spend the homeless crisi bailout federal dollars some way.

There will be a new Heaven and a new Earth, cupcake (NOT directed at OP).
The former things will have passed away.

Uh oh, here came the memory of “The Naked Gun”

At least George Kennedy had a variety of snacks
Actually, you do - just not to the same degree SF does. Yet.
I loved LA too, but I left after they had the 92 Riots and refused to fix any of the problems that caused it. They didn’t even acknowledge them - they just went gun-ban crazy instead.
I decided to leave. I would love to return to the 80s or early 90s LA I left, but that is gone baby gone and it isn’t coming back.
Shut down the airport.
Cons never give up the con.
Shut down all gas stations and Elec power plants.
Since Solar and PV need a source current to follow, no more P or wind power.
Must use renewables.
All heating must be done by wood burning. Be prepared for SMOG to return to LA Basin.
I hear you.l. But the cit of SF gives out enormous numbers of needles ... hundreds of thousands per year. LA doesn’t give them out.
