Charging that so-called "sanctuary" cities that protect illegal immigrants are jeopardizing domestic security, Attorney General Bill Barr announced a slew of additional sanctions that he called a "significant escalation" against left-wing local and state governments that obstruct the "lawful functioning of our nation's immigration system."

But Congress may, by a vote of two-thirds of each House, remove such disability.Above is still active and unblockable by judicial or state actions. It's section 3 of the 14th amendment. Note it doesn't state it just cover's "Abe Lincoln's civil war," it was written to also be ready for future needs. I presume a specific legal definition of "engaged in insurrection or rebellion" will somewhat limit its applicability here, but if the leading edge of the "Resistance" hasn't already crossed that line it's striving for it.
Potentially, another limitation is whether the enabling legislation for this section remains active and applicable. IIRC Congress did have a 2/3 vote to let everyone in the South out of this sometime during Reconstruction. I don't know whether they left AG Barr any usable law to enforce it. If they did Barr should research it for at least the threat of use. If they didn't Barr should draft appropriate enforcing legislation to pass after Trump retakes Pelosi's House. Take care to draft it so that the left couldn't use it against those upholding their Constitutionally guaranteed rights, just against those in government trying to exercise more power than their positions Constitutionally provide.
He should enforce existing immigration law and throw those officials in Jail. In some cases the existing law calls for the death penalty for those who aid Illegals.

absolutely. and trump did the same thing when he super-charged our economy BEFORE instituting tariffs to bring our greedy trading “partners” to heel; that is, he made sure our economy was so powerful and resilient that it could easily shrug off any minor perturbations from temporary tariffs before our “partners” caved ... which is why all of the doom and gloom predicted by the dying lying leftist fake stream enemedia was complete hogwash that of course never came true ...
They also need strong sanctions against Virginia, California, New York, New Jersey, Maryland and all other states that infringe in second amendment.
I have told a few friends and family members that I think Trump is going to campaign really big in California. Over the last 6 or 7 weeks he has made comments calling out California politicians about the homelessness and filth.
I guess California is contending for first place in list of $hith0le states.
Don’t get me wrong. There are lots of wonderful people in California. And it would be wrong to just ignore fellow citizens because of the corrupt leaders there.
If anyone can get California back in the Republican win-column for Presidential race it is Trump.

The Insurrection Act (10 USC §§351-355) signed by President Thomas Jefferson and the Calling Forth Act (2 USC §28), the latter signed by President George Washington, are what you are looking for.
Barr's approach is much better.
The mayors and governors should have been arrested years ago.
Trump knows he can't win Cali but was quoted last fall saying he may campaign in Cali to reduce the amount he loses by in Cali to give him a chance to win the nationwide popular vote.
