MANCHESTER, N.H. Democratic leaders have edged toward the brink of open war with one another in recent days after a series of jarring setbacks that could jeopardize the party's chances against President Trump, who continues to solidify his iron-fisted control over the Republican election apparatus.
The infighting focuses largely on the failed caucus process in Iowa, with state and national Democratic leaders at odds over who deserves blame, as well as an increasingly bitter dispute over the rules governing who gets into future nationally televised candidate debates a process that could allow billionaire Mike Bloomberg to make the stage later this month....
A former New York mayor, Bloomberg gave more than $1.5 million to the national and state parties in the final months of last year, according to federal election records. He so far has collected only one of the four 10 percent polls he needs to qualify for the Las Vegas debate Feb. 19....
Sanders has been blunt in his condemnation of the move.
I think it is an outrage, he told reporters Thursday. I guess if youre worth $55 billion, you can get the rules changed.

Trump did that and won.
They are turning on each other and increasing Trump’s chances of re-election by the day.
“...that could jeopardize the party’s chances against President Trump, who continues to solidify his iron-fisted control over the Republican election apparatus.”
Wow, no apparent bias in the reporter’s writing style, huh?
Excellent, excellent!!! (insert diabolical laughter)
Romney turned on us.
Romney turned on us.
Let’s you and you fight!
Another reason impeachment was horrible for Democrats. They needed to sort this out before Iowa and they knew it. This is going to erupt in more insanity. There is no stopping it.
The only thing that can be gleaned from Iowa is it twern’t Biden.
Why are they whining? Primary campaigns have always been blood sport, no?
You can’t “threaten” something that doesn’t exist.
I'd argue that the Democrat establishment still has iron-fisted control over their election apparatus. How else would you explain a guy like Joe Manchin of West Virginia voting to remove Trump from office on two bogus charges?
Excellent, excellent!!! (insert diabolical laughter)
And insert Montgomery Burns jpg.
What a pile this article is. How about this line “iron-fisted control” describing Trump? The dem party has always tried to put on a front and seem unified since their coalition is made of identity politics.
I think at this point they all know that those on the campaign trail are just going through the motions and have no shot.
Bloomberg has this all bought and paid for.
dims have bernie, a product of their own creation so they need to get behind him and get use to being a socialist party.
The Democrats are starting to take off the mask and let their deep inner reptilian loose!
“The Party” has no chance against Trump. All they have are lies and corruption.
Like what does WaHo expect out of a primary?
Maybe 25 years of Dem primaries that were just all-show left people unaware that these are not supposed to be love-ins.
These are people that represent factions, and they want to win. What a shock!
That party badly needs these sides to go at it.
Can you even imagine???
BLOOMBERG / SANDERS 2020
or
SANDERS / BLOOMBERG 2020
The jokes just write themselves.
There will need to be new Department of Food Testers.
