The Communist Manifesto got a shoutout during the 2020 Oscars.
Julia Reichert, the co-director of best documentary winner American Factory, which was produced by former President Barack Obamas new film company, apparently quoted from Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels infamous book during her acceptance speech on Sunday night.
Working people have it harder and harder these days and we believe that things will get better when workers of the world unite, Reichert said.
The quote was a riff on the last lines of the 1848 political document, which are frequently translated from German as Workers of the world, unite. You have nothing to lose but your chains!
The quote was also famously one of the official mottos of the Soviet Union before its fall. Communist regimes in the last century were responsible for the murder of more than 100 million people including tens of millions murdered by the Soviet Union.

Looks like Mayo Pete from Wall Street has similar leftist bona fides as Obama. Hmmm
LOL my late M-in-L hated that commercial every time she saw it. Everyone else laughed but she fumed. We had to just let her stew in her own juice.
Get in line. A few of us have front grave site tickets to piss on Hanoi Jane. I can speak for many of my friends who were POWs of the VC (the murdered Nick Rowe) and tortured by Hanoi’s men and Cubans (Mike Benge, Jerry Denton (d), Bud Day (d), etc).
Jane is a minor character in a great book on the MIA/POW issue, “League of Wives”, by Heath C. Lee, St. Martin Press, 2019. Check it out. About how the families of POWS/MIAS started their own organizations to get information on the status of their husbands, sons, relatives and friends.
I had a part in helping her write the book. Lots of good stuff on how Hanoi treated our POWS and how their “Hanoi Lobby” in the US aided them in promoting “the good treatment” lie campaign, including Jane (who I took on at a press conference).
Only good when your in the elitist class
Foreman says these jobs are going boys, and they aint coming back, to your hometown...
I thoughtPhoenix was likely his real self..screwed up. He mentioned if there wasnt a thing like movies hed have nothing, ie hes not educated and has no other job aptitude other than being a spoiled obstinate child dressing up and playing make believe. Hes telling the truth...he’s a totally screwed up homeless guy with millions of dollars.
They arent even pretending now. The only answer we have is, Patriots of this country unite and dont give Hollywood one penny of your money, starve them out.
Actually, it was the “proletarians of the world, unite”. According to M&E, they were those who had nothing to lose. Workers are working people and they have everything to lose. By the way, Engels was a capitalist, he owned factories and exploited workers, And Marx was writing the Capital and mooching off Engels.
Obama has a film company???
The workers of the US united and elected DJT.
Time to do it again.
The Korean movie ‘Parasite’ won the Oscar over the China movie ‘Coronavirus’..... : )
Thanx
Big surprise, the Lefties in Hollywood think workers should all unionize, yea, that’s gonna work.
One way to fight this crowd: stop watching their movies, ditch Netflix, toss their DVDs, and start reading again. Fear getting bored? You won’t be bored if they take over.
Doesnt matter. The obamas were paid millions in a signing contract.
So much for McCarthy was wrong. If anything, he sadly under estimated the number of Communists in Hollywood. These vile creatures have been eating away at the foundations of our nation since the early fifties. Time to drain the swamp indeed!
Turn off ..tune in ..vote Dims out.
I forget if the sign had "unite" as "untie."
