Former New York City Mayorand potential 2020 Democratic presidential candidateMichael Bloomberg called efforts to legalize marijuana "perhaps the stupidest thing anybody has ever done."
Speaking at the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland, on Tuesday, Bloomberg said on the subject, according to WBNG-TV:
"We have a different kind of problem in America, for example. Last year, in 2017, 72,000 Americans [overdosed] on drugs. In 2018, more people than that are OD-ing on drugs, have OD'd on drugs. And today, incidentally, we are trying to legalize another addictive narcotic, which is perhaps the stupidest thing anybody has ever done. We've got to fight that, and that's another thing that Bloomberg Philanthropies will work on it in public health."

Well here in Washington State Marijuana is part of the economy and they’re catching up with the espresso stands in number.
There’s no going back, Mike Bloomingidiot, Nuff said.
Just one of many studies.
“The study found that those who used pot daily were three times more likely to have a psychotic episode compared with someone who never used the drug.
Those who started using cannabis at 15 or younger had a slightly more elevated risk than those who started using in later years.
Use of high-potency weed almost doubled the odds of having psychosis compared with someone who had never smoked weed, explains Di Forti.”
I disagree
No everyone who uses it, abuses it. No different than alcohol. I think the behavior of those on alcohol is worse than marijuana. If a person comes home from work and wants to relax with weed, how is that different than drinking?
Its their body. If its not hurting anyone else on their free time, I have no issues with it. The same application/laws should be used as with alcohol, perhaps then I think people would stop exaggerating and generalizing.
Ive never seen that in my life.
Give it a generation and, like the Netherlands, the State of Washington will again begin to restrict it after experiencing the ill effects of legalization.
We can bring back the prohibition at that time too.
Lets look at studies on those who were habitual drinkers starting at 15.
This is not about 15 year olds. But, for adults.
Neither have I.
Most societies permit alcohol but ban marijuana, which is to say different rules for different substances.
Medical marijuana needs to be off the Federal restriction. Mr Ban Drinks aint my mammy
Marijuana is not addicting. If Mini Mike wants to take a dangerous substance off the market bring back Prohibition. Alcohol is addicting and causes far more damage to the body and to society. How ever I don’t believe in prohibition, it never has worked and never will.
That's like the Left calling all scary looking guns "assault weapons" even though they are not.
Not only are liberals liars, they make stuff up like this to suit their agenda.

Not only are liberals outright liars, they make descriptions up like this to suit their agendas.
Well mini Mikes campaign just Went up in Smoke! Will Stacy play Mike in the movie?
Marijuana can be addictive! Bloomberg is 100% correct on this one.
Here’s what WebMD posted about marijuana and addiction:
“The National Institute on Drug Abuse says marijuana can be addictive and could be considered a ‘gateway drug’ to using other drugs. Experts believe that higher THC levels and increased usage could increase the likelihood of physical dependence. You may have trouble stopping, crave it when you can’t have it, and need more of it to achieve the same effects.”
The science is settled! Marijuana is harmful. Its addictive. Legalization causes all kinds of societal problems.
