Joe you have to stop talking now. Why couldn’t he just keep it together until September.

Poor Joe. He should be doing reverse mortgage commercials on cable TV instead of embarrassing himself

All of Biden’s corn has popped. Nothing left upstairs but milk sop.

"Biden quipped: “Come on, guys!”"

... "Maybe you need a refresher course. It's all ball bearings these days."

Tips for reducing sundowning:
  1. Try to maintain a predictable routine for bedtime, waking, meals and activities.
  2. Plan for activities and exposure to light during the day to encourage nighttime sleepiness.
  3. Limit daytime napping.
  4. Limit caffeine and sugar to morning hours.
  5. Keep a night light on to reduce agitation that occurs when surroundings are dark or unfamiliar.
  6. In the evening, try to reduce background noise and stimulating activities, including TV viewing, which can sometimes be upsetting.
  7. In a strange or unfamiliar setting, bring familiar items — such as photographs — to create a more relaxed, familiar setting.
  8. Play familiar gentle music in the evening or relaxing sounds of nature, such as the sound of waves.
  9. Talk with your loved one's doctor if you suspect that an underlying condition, such as a urinary tract infection or sleep apnea, might be worsening sundowning behavior, especially if sundowning develops quickly.
Poor Joe. He's going to have such a hard time on so many of these suggestions. I wonder if he can even find a "loved one."

Maybe Biden is thinking of the Julio who is mentioned in one of the Simon and Garfunkel songs. Of course the Simon and Garfunkel music is from a later generation than Biden’s.

Of course the Simon and Garfunkel music is from a later generation than Biden’s.

Biden was born in 1942.

Simon and Garfunkel were both born in 1941.

Biden was already a Senator when the song came out, but he wasn't from an earlier generation.

Looks like Sleepy J has confused Julian Castro with Julio Fuentes, Fred Sanford’s Puerto Rican neighbor. Easy mistake to make since they all look the same, right Joe?

Yes, apparently "Me and Julio Down by the Schoolyard" dates to 1972.

I didn't bother to check the dates...I was just trying to make Biden sound old.

Biden was born 11/20/1942 so he is 77. He is younger than Alan Dershowitz, Bernie Sanders, and Mitch McConnell and only a few months older than Newt Gingrich, but he comes across as much older than any of them. I know people in their 80s and 90s who are much more with it mentally than Joe Biden.

Biden doesn’t think.

He just has mental outbursts/bursts passing instead of thoughts.

Biden does seem older than he is. Probably because he is always talking about the past, in a way that even candidates of approximately the same age aren’t. Building a “bridge to the past” didn’t work out well for Bob Dole, and it isn’t working well for Biden.

And Biden’s past seems further back than it is - in the 30s or 40s, rather than in the 50s or 60s. He comes across as grandfatherly, and if your grandfather was born 100 years ago, or further back than that, rather than only 80, he may sound that way to you. Plus, he taps into stereotypes of aged Irish-American politicians that go even further back than that, even though he is only about half-Irish.

BTW, Biden was elected to the Senate in 1970 when he was just under 28, and Senators have to be 30 to take office, so for the first two years of his term, Delaware wasn’t represented in the Senate. People complain about incapacitated old or dying politicians holding on to the last minute - Ted Kennedy, John McCain - but that seems more understandable than a politician running for an office that he is ineligible to hold because he is too young.
