Slim's talking about Valerie Plame, candidate in NM-3, northern NM. Claire Chase is in NM-2, southern NM. NM-1 is ABQ area.

Chase is her married name - she married into the family of Mack Chase, an oil producer and pecan farmer. I spent a lot of time working in Artesia area and Mack is known for his generosity and philanthropy. His year end bonus to employees were SUV’s and any graduating senior from Artesia High School who had the grades to go to college received a full scholarship to New Mexico universities or those in Lubbock or El Paso.
:-) Yeah, I prompted his comment by asking about the super spy in Santa Fe. Figured he’d know who I was talking about.

I know you did, but I thought I should make clear for others it was Plame and not Chase who was the subject of the thread.

Torres Small was an aide to retiring Senator Tom Udall, a radical environmentalist and left-wing “progressive” Dem.
What’s the district like, enrollment and past representatives. Does she have a chance?
That’s right. I’d bet Xochitl Torres Small is a big supporter and confidant of AOC and that crowd. They’re all birds of a feather only with little differences in the color of the feathers.
Oh, and I hope Claire speaks Spanish or takes a quick course to be able to converse. She doesn’t need to tout it like Beto O’Rouke in Texas, but could use it in polite conversation or a response.
I believe Steve Pearce (who was the former Pub holder in NM-2 and who she worked for in DC) was fluent enough to be able to respond to questions. He had Hispanic support because during one of the 80’s downturn in the O&G industry, he kept his employees on the service company payroll, including a lot of Spanish speaking ones, and they were some of his most fervent supporters when he ran for Congress.
