People vote for Trump not because of his flaws, but despite of them, because he gets things done. I’m sure the The New York Times would like to keep talking about Stormy Daniels, but Trump supporters would like to talk about the best-ever economy and record high employment numbers. Sorry NYT, you have a losing hand.
I got pummeled here, understandably, in 2018 when I said that losing the House might just be a blessing for Trump, because the Democrats would overplay their hand and not be able to hide behind Republicans. In the case of impeachment, for example, they couldn’t blame Republicans for stonewalling it...so they had to go through with it. Also, The Squad became the de facto leadership of the party, and still is.
The thing is, what if they didn’t win the House? I think things would be far different - the grassroots efforts by the Dems to bring back the working class vote just may have worked. They’d be hearing nothing about gun control, they would be hearing a lot about how impotent Trump is (judges just don’t get on the radar for non-news junkies). They’d also be hearing about how the Dems will make their lives great again...etc.
Sadly, for much of the country, at least until Trump, the default position for much of the white, working class, has been to vote Democrat (having prior Republican leaders not give a crap about them certainly didn’t help our side either). But now, it’s different...for now. If Trump gets re-elected, we may reach another inflection point towards the end of Trump’s 8 years, where the Republicans can continue with Trump’s policies, or they do Bush Sr. did and go back to their country clubs.
I’m cpncerned about the flip question. Millions of tribal Democrats are moving from jobless Democrat Rust Belt cities (Flint, Toledo, Akron, Cleveland, Columbus, Cincinatti, Rochester, Buffalo, etc) to Red states that can’t find enough employees.
These tribal Democrats are not ideologues. They are ripe for convesion. But who is evangelizing?
Compare it to football. Loyal fans of the Lions or Browns move to KC or Houston or Tennessee. Converting team loyalty is easy. It makes sense. But Loyal Rust Belt fans moving to Atlanta have no reason to convert to complacent, boring Falcons.
Likewise tribal Democrats have no reason to convert to a complacent, boring GOP. The only non-boring thing the GA GOP has done is create a divisive fight for Isaackson’s seat.
Bummer.
May they feel the Bern when the Bern Bros walk away from the DNC.
The Left has never intended to convert anybody to their camp.
Since Day 1, they had been howling at the sky, one specific pic came to mind. All they have been doing ever since is to vent their spleen childishly.
It didn’t work on the so-called independents, and certainly won’t work on Trump supporters.
That's what I care about. I don't care about anything else. I don't care what Donald Trump said to the president of Ukraine. I never cared about Ukraine in my life and I'm not about to start. I don't care what wife he's on. I don't care if he "lies" and says 72% when "really, it's only 71.2, say fact-checkers." I do not care.
1. Stock Market
2. Unemployment
3. Our Military
4. Our Borders.
That's what I care about.
TRUTH would free them from their demoralization.
...liberal political conversion therapy is just not working.
Homo-to-heterosexual conversion therapy is around 23-30% effective.
And atheist-to-Christian conversion therapy (real evangelism), when actually tried, is also effective. But, how strong is real evangelism today?
African evangelists consider America a large mission field...
And as for Christianity in America...

Have they heard themselves talk? They trash talk deplorables still today. How are you going to convert anyone speaking like that?
