I like Jay for the SC but his age and gender don’t make him the best choice. We want someone who is young enough to be there for the next 25 years and female to prevent the vile dems from going off on that (white) male BS.
Doubtful. More likely Amy Coney Barrett to replace RBG.
Trump’s people might be floating ‘a name’ to see how the senate Republicans react. If this nominee is a former Trump lawyer you might expect Romney, Collins end the rest of the Rino Band to react warily. Trump, being a master tactician, will be watching. If it happens then Amy Coney Barrett (or someone else) looks a lot better and the Rino’s will think they took a scalp.
Agreed. Go a decade younger, and get an extra decade of time on the bench.
This is who he wanted...but Mitch did not think she would get confirmed
Amy Coney Barrett

Amy Barrett is a judge on the 7th Circuit, which hears appeals from Illinois, Indiana, and Wisconsin.
Trump nominated her to that judgeship in the spring of 2017 and she was confirmed last October by a 55-43 vote, with Democratic Sens. Joe Donnelly (Indiana), Tim Kaine (Virginia), and Joe Manchin (West Virginia) voting for her confirmation.
At her confirmation hearing, Senate Democrats chided Barrett for her writings as a law student in 1998 and asked inappropriate questions about her Catholic faith. She responded that Its never appropriate for a judge to impose that judges personal convictions, whether they derive from faith or anywhere else, on the law.
Barrett exhibited grace under fire during her contentious confirmation hearing, and she received robust bipartisan support from the legal community, including from Neal Katyal, a prominent liberal who served as President Barack Obamas acting solicitor general.
Most of her career has been spent in academia, but following two clerkships, Barrett worked in private practice, where she was part of the team that represented George W. Bush in Bush v. Gore. She briefly taught at George Washington University and the University of Virginia before joining the Notre Dame Law faculty in 2002. She also served on the Advisory Committee on the Federal Rules of Appellate Procedure for six years.
Bankruptcy, age, and lack of judicial experience aside, Jay as a completed Jew would tie the Democrats in knots. But we have a full array of Catholics already on the Court. Need more diversity!
What "reassessment of the actual life and teachings of the rabbi from Nazareth" are you talking about?
Jewish and Gentile Christians have always viewed the Old Testament (Torah) and New Testament as the inspired Word of God.
Jewish and Gentile Christians have always recognized and received the sacrifice of Yeshua (Jesus), i.e., His crucifixion (blood) as payment for one's sin. Jesus is the Lamb of God.
Jewish and Gentile Christians have always seen Jesus the Messiah in and throughout the Torah.
May all men come to know Jesus (Yeshua), SAR SHALOM, the Prince of Peace.
"The people who walk in darkness Will see a great light; Those who live in a dark land, The light will shine on them. You shall multiply the nation, You shall increase their gladness; They will be glad in Your presence As with the gladness of harvest, As men rejoice when they divide the spoil. For You shall break the yoke of their burden and the staff on their shoulders, The rod of their oppressor, as at the battle of Midian. For every boot of the booted warrior in the battle tumult, And cloak rolled in blood, will be for burning, fuel for the fire. For a child will be born to us, a son will be given to us; And the government will rest on His shoulders; And His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace. There will be no end to the increase of His government or of peace, On the throne of David and over his kingdom, To establish it and to uphold it with justice and righteousness From then on and forevermore. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will accomplish this. Gods Anger with Israels Arrogance The Lord sends a message against Jacob, And it falls on Israel. And all the people know it, That is, Ephraim and the inhabitants of Samaria, Asserting in pride and in arrogance of heart: -Isaiah 9:2-9
I would prefer him as AG or FBI Director.
I’m okay with Amy Barrett, especially as a replacement when RBG leaves.
Oh yes. Perfect.
