Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez hit back at critics who deride her experience as a bartender during an appearance on an episode of Showtime's "Desus & Mero" released Thursday.
The congresswoman mixed a few drinks for her fellow Bronx natives, show hosts Desus Nice and The Kid Mero, on a tour of their home borough.
When Desus asked Ocasio-Cortez how she takes criticism of her service industry background, she suggested that some members of Congress think they're "smarter" than their working class constituents and colleagues.
"I feel like people are always clowning themselves when they say that because it's like, okay so you think every person you represent that's a bartender, a waitress, a working person, that they can't do this job?" she said. "Because let me tell you, I work with some of these people and they are not smarter than a bartender."

I doubt it. Yes, she’s an idiot that got voted in, but there’s a major player out there that recruited her, trained her, and are pulling her strings.
Even though her mouth is locked in overdrive with her brain frozen in park, she will still get re-elected through fraud.

Aoc is correct on this ...even a blind hog finds an acorn occasionally....she is just ass backwards on who the dummies are no doubt....

Oddly enough, I agree with AOC. I’m quite certain many members of Congress have below average intelligence. They got where they are by cunning, luck, ruthlessness, and knowing the right people or right dirt. I’ve met some very bright bartenders. However, I don’t believe AOC can claim to be brighter than her contemporaries. I’m fairly certain her actual, objective intelligence level is fairly far out on the tail end of the bell curve, and not the good side.
I’d agree. My Representatives. David Cicilline and Jim Langevin are quite stupid. But she is being unfair to bartenders everywhere.
There was a time and nights when I colluded with many a “White Russians” and a few “Black Russians”.
