Climate change: Loss of bumblebees driven by 'climate chaos'
BBC News ^ | February 7, 2020 | By Helen Briggs

"Climate chaos" has caused widespread losses of bumblebees across continents, according to scientists.

A new analysis shows the likelihood of a bee being found in any given place in Europe and North America has declined by a third since the 1970s.

Climbing temperatures will increasingly cause declines, which are already more severe than previously thought, said researchers.

Bumblebees are key pollinators of many fruits, vegetables and wild plants. Without them, some crops could fail, reducing food for humans and countless other species.

Dr Tim Newbold of University College London (UCL) said there had been some previous research showing that bumblebee distributions are moving northwards in Europe and North America, "as you'd expect with climate change".

He added: "But this was the first time that we have been able to really tie local extinctions and colonisations of bumble bees to climate change, showing a really clear fingerprint of climate change in the declines that we've seen."

Bumblebee declines are already more severe than previously thought, said lead researcher Peter Soroye of the University of Ottawa in Canada. "We've linked this to climate change - and more specifically to the extreme temperatures and the climate chaos that climate change is producing," he said.

Not true. Bees like sea animals used a built in GPS. The magnetic north is changing fast and this causes wildlife to get lost. This is a big part of the reason whales are grounding themselves accidentally. What was supposed to be open water ahead when all of the sudden there is a beach.

I thought the ‘Fricanized ones were decimating the honey bee in the Americas.

Some stupid “intellectual” brought them to South America and let them go, decades ago.

The left has embarked on a campaign of political power which has a solitary remedy of a totalitarian state ruled by academic autiocrats.

To accomplish this they pursue a continual emotional attack designed to convert logic to emotion, and emotion to manipulation of fact.

The climate may be changing, but its always changing. Nothing virtually nothing is happening which has not happened previously in the climate history of the earth and the Sun.

The increased caterwauling is because people all over the world now know their game, and the jig is up.

Also the fact is that the globe is cooling, and now we see the genuine signs of cooling, which need no extended modeling and theory to understand. The left and their foolish caterwauling on climate know they are running out of time, and soon everyone will know that the earth is cooling as predicted by the Maunder Minimum.

See the cooling for yourself with your own eyes via NASA:

“Major Greenland Glacier Is Growing”

https://earthobservatory.nasa.gov/images/145185/major-greenland-glacier-is-growing

The left can NO LONGER use climate change as a reason for justifying a totalitarian socialist “democracy,” where the very food you eat is dictated by how much gas you might emit in digesting it, and the size of one’s “carbon footprint” dictates your station in society.

just because one cannot find the bees, does not mean they are not some where else.

bees will find their nectar be it from wild flowers or trees, and since there are more plants around, bees have moved on.

How long before humans will wake up to the real cause? This article may shed some light on it, as I do believe it to be right on target.

The real planet X or NIBIRU which has and will continue to cause much commotion as it gets ever closer to our solar system. Earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, floods, droughts and strange weather patterns. One of the reasons the Vatican built their new observatory over 20 years ago on Mount Graham in Arizona. Amongst others, this observatory also has a sophisticated INFRARED telescope for he specific purpose of detecting BROWN DWARFS as explained in the article below.

Our star’s companion is approaching the inner planets of the Solar System

Categories: Current opinions, Science, Space

There is no such thing as Planet 9 or Planet X. What actually exists is the companion of the Sun. It is a brown dwarf and its size is between 10 - 20 times that of the Earth. This brown dwarf is circling the Sun in a vast orbit which takes it 60 times further than Neptune. It passes through the inner part of the Solar System when the Sun reaches the highest position in the galaxy.

The reason for the anomalies in the orbits of objects circling far beyond Neptune is the companion of our star, not a black hole or white hole. The orbital motion of this brown dwarf is correlated with the orbital motion of the Sun.

When the Sun moves higher and reaches the highest point above the galactic plane, which takes several thousand years, its companion gets closer to it and passes through the inner planets of the solar system. At that time, it becomes visible even to the naked eyes.

And if you are wondering why astronomers could not detect this celestial object until now, in spite of its size and measured influence, it is because brown dwarfs are in general very difficult to detect, since they emit almost no visible light. And keep in mind, that the first brown dwarf was discovered very recently. UCLA astronomy professor Ian S. McLean said that the first brown dwarf was not discovered until 1995, yet McLean suspects the galaxy is teeming with them.

“Brown dwarfs are so elusive, so hard to find,” McLean said. “They can be detected best in the infrared, and even within the infrared, they are very difficult to detect. We detect the heat glow from these faint objects in the infrared. Typically, they have to be relatively close by, within 100 light years, for us to even detect the heat signature.”
However, when the companion of the Sun passes through the inner part of the solar system, its impact on our planet will be so massive. That is due to the intensity of its magnetic field. Brown dwarfs are dense astronomical bodies compared to stars and their magnetic fields are even bigger than the strong ones that accompany sunspots.

That is the reason why brown dwarfs are powerful emitters of radio emission. In this regard, it is infinitely important to remark, that the physical characteristics of red and brown dwarfs, contradict the most basic concepts of the Big Bang Cosmology Model.

Nonetheless, according to the theory of the Magnetic Structure of Matter that I introduced several years ago, exceedingly-dim astronomical objects and bodies such as brown and red dwarfs constitute the majority of the mass of the Universe. But, this fact cannot be comprehended without understanding the gravity and its real role in the distribution of matter and at the same time, discarding the hypothetical concept of thermonuclear fusion.

Finally, it is worth noting, that the so-called Milankovitch cycle is, in fact, the orbital period of the Sun above and below the galactic plane. It is the transformation cycle of our helical solar system.

You can actually purchase a bumble bee hive.

https://www.arbico-organics.com/product/natupol-bumblebee-hives/beneficial-insects-pollinators

My neighbor did this last year and we saw bumble bees in the garden all summer. Unfortunately bumble bees don’t over-winter well, so you need a new hive every spring.
My neighbor told me his hive cost him $120, but I’ll bet it’s higher this year, because there are fewer bees. Also, the bee hives are cardboard and need some kind of a cover to keep rain off.

I’m not buying this so called “research” in any way. Bees will go to wherever they can find their food, For the past 2 years I have planted Monardia (bee balm) around my garden. I have never seen as many bumble bees there in the past 20 years as I did last year.

If the bees have a good place to live and eat, they’ll do just fine, but you can’t expect to find them in an “asphalt jungle”.

Based on the cost and frequency of “bee removal” every couple of years from the eaves of my house in West Palm Beach, the bee culture is thriving. There is no shortage of honey bees in my neck of the woods. Period.

I have never seen as many bumble bees there in the past 20 years as I did last year.

A look at worldwide honey bee populations over 50 years

As you can see, honey bee colonies worldwide have increased by more than 65 percent from the 1960s to the 2010s, and across the European Union the number has been pretty stable, too. According to the USDA the number of honey bee colonies in the U.S. increased by 17% between 2006 and 2018. https://www.farmmeetstable.com/en/protecting-our-environment/2018/are-honey-bees-really-dying-out

The overall population of honeybees in the US, Canada and Europe has held steady or increased slightly since the widespread adoption of neonics in the 1990s. The US honeybee population hit a 22-year high in 2016, according to the figures released by the USDA before dipping slightly last year, and globally are at an all-time high. https://geneticliteracyproject.org/2018/04/17/honeybee-population-isnt-crashing-and-seed-pesticides-are-not-driving-health-problems-and-heres-why/

Honeybees Ravaged by 'Colony Collapse Disorder' Are Making a Huge Comeback

Still, more than two-fifths of beekeepers said mites were harming their hives, and with pesticides and other factors still stressing bees, the overall increase is largely the result of constant replenishment of losses, the study showed.

Environmental groups have expressed alarm over the 90 percent decline during the past two decades in the population of pollinators, from wild bees to Monarch butterflies. Some point to a class of pesticides called neonicotinoids as a possible cause, a link rejected by Bayer AG and other manufacturers.

In the USDA study, beekeepers who owned at least five colonies, or hives, reported the most losses from the varroa mite, a parasite that lives only in beehives and survives by sucking insect blood. The scourge, present in the U.S. since 1987, was reported in 42 percent of commercial hives between April and June this year, according to the USDA. That’s down from 53 percent in the same period one year earlier.
