Forget what the news states, when these corporations shut down plants (after a two week holiday) the situation is more serious than what ever we are being told.

No new iPhones?

5hit just got real...

Bring Out Your Dead

Post to me or FReep mail to be on/off the Bring Out Your Dead ping list.

The purpose of the “Bring Out Your Dead” ping list (formerly the “Ebola” ping list) is very early warning of emerging pandemics, as such it has a high false positive rate.

So far the false positive rate is 100%.

At some point we may well have a high mortality pandemic, and likely as not the “Bring Out Your Dead” threads will miss the beginning entirely.

*sigh* Such is life, and death...

If a quarantine saves just one child's life, it's worth it.

Watch this video starting at 36 minutes, and watch all the way to at least 54 minutes.

The narrator is an idiot, but the video is beyond belief.

Damn! I’m trying not to spend any more money prepping, but I think I’m going to buy me a phone tomorrow, as mine is having some issues.

Might as well get it before the supply lines are cut completely.

I stopped by my local Home Depot yesterday to pick up some new safety glasses. I noticed that the dust masks were nearly all gone. Never one to follow the crowd as it panics, I picked up a box of N95 masks for myself. At 3 times the price of a month ago.

A U.S. citizen in Wuhan, China, has died from the new coronavirus, officials at the American Embassy in Beijing said Saturday.

The embassy said that the 60-year old American died Feb. 6 in Wuhan. A Japanese citizen is also reported to have died in Wuhan of viral pneumonia, likely caused by the coronavirus, although that has not been confirmed.

The Coronavirus is not new, there have been 5 known strains that can pass between man and animal. Most have been around for over 50 years, causing minor illness.

This variation has MERS like commonalities.

As a data point, Wuhan has a center for MERS and Coronavirus Research. This center has been previously written up for violations on protocol that would allow possible escapes. Incidentally, and COMPLETELY UNRELATED (/s) this, is the fact that this same center applied for a patent 2 days ago for a treatment for this virus
