Utah Sen. Mitt Romney, the only Republican to vote to convict President Trump on abuse of power during the impeachment trial this week, said he expects he'll face "unimaginable" consequences for breaking with his party.
"I don't know what theyll be, there's some I know," Romney said in an interview released by New York Times's "Daily" podcast Thursday, when asked what consequences he anticipates from the decision.
"I know they'll be consequence and I just have to recognize that and do what you think is right," Romney added.

"Not voting my conscience in order for me to have a better political and personal benefit would subject my own conscience to its censure," Romney said, on his decision to break from his party.
"So I just, I don't have a choice there. This for me is fundamental to my oath to God and fundamental to how our country must work, which is people have to be seen as honest in fulfilling the oath that they take," he said.

No, the consequence he cannot imagine is that no one will ever give a damn about him ever again.
Mitt is now playing the victim card.
P.S. (Remember when he tied his dog to the top of the car?)
Willard is neck-deep in Bur$ma corruption, and he knows very well what comes next, which is why he is freaking out.
He’s a maverick I tell ya, a veritable maverick.
Vicar.
Steyn humorously spot on, as usual.
He has no concious
Thanks...lol, that’s my Boston accent coming out in print. I’m so worked up this week!
The way you spelled it is probably closer to the way Steyn said it, with his accent :-)
I love how he says Buhhhnie.
Send him a quarter so he call someone that cares.
Mitt Romney is hoping to get high profile, publicity generating retribution for his treachery to propel himself into swing vote stardom.
Not gonna happen.
All he has done is made himself irrelevant and isolated.
Democrats already hate him with a passion and no Republican can trust him because he is a two faced, unprincipled, backstabbing traitor that makes John McCain look like George Washington by comparison.
He will be able to prostitute himself on close votes on high profile issues and Mitch has already been very honest that there are a few upcoming votes where he will need Romney.
Most of these votes are on very divisive social and cultural oriented like Judges, taxes, regulation and ObamaCare where Romney has reduced leverage because voting with Democrats means stabbing his Utah constituents in the back
Sucks to be him, but that has always been the traitors traditional lot in life
Precisely, my good FRiend.
Pierre is crying victim tears, when all along, he's really the PERP!
Watch for Pierre to run as an Indy in the general. He's been setting this up for a few years; and...
WE see right through it.
.
One can only hope.
Those were the first four words that popped in my mind when I read this headline.
excellent observation, my FRiend!
Just a week ago, he said he needed to hear more witnesses, presumably because there was not yet evidence to convict (otherwise, why would you need to hear more?). He didnt get the witnesses and still voted to convict. So apparently he based his decision on testimony that was never given.
Hes a loathsome liar.
Excellent point!!!
Traitors must swing.
He’s 72. He won’t run again. He’ll spend the next 5 years on the Senate Cafeteria Committee.
I really like Mark. When he’s on with Tucker I try and catch him. Brilliant guy.
